Carol Jenson

Carol Jean Jenson, 79, Crete, ND, passed away on July 9, 2023 at Four Seasons Health, Forman, ND.

Carol Jean Mallow was born on May 17, 1944 in Bertha, Minnesota to Elmer and Viola (Freitag) Mallow. She grew up in Casselton, ND and graduated from Casselton High School as one of the Class of ’62 “hellions”. After graduation, Carol attended the Interstate Business College for a business degree. She spent her career as a coordinator for State Farm and then Home Heating in Fargo, a total of over fifty years. David and Carol moved to Crete, ND in 2018 following retirement.

Carol was united in marriage to David Jenson in 1963; they made their home together in Fargo and enjoyed almost 60 years together. Together they raised two boys; Jeffrey and Jay.

Carol was an avid bowler, playing for Dee’s Sewing, and was sponsored by Joel Peterson and Reed Stigen at Home Heating for years. She was a Yankee fan, a diehard Viking fan, and loved the Laker’s basketball team with some static from sisters, sons, and husband. Her favorite though, was fishing and camping with her husband, mother, and father on Lake Sakakawea. She was a fierce pinochle player who never liked to lose and heaven help you if you misplayed a card. We didn’t bring it up if she misplayed a card though. Carol loved her family dearly and was looking forward to meeting her great-granddaughter. She was a selfless person; always thinking of others and putting them before herself. She will be missed by all whose lives she touched.
Carol is survived by her husband David; her sons Jeffrey and Jay; three grandchildren: Alex, Abby, and Sarah; sisters Loretta Hall and Linda (Larry) Skalet; brothers Ron Mallow and Richard Mallow; sister-in-law Joanne Nelson; as well as many nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends.

Carol was preceded in death by her parents, daughter-in-law Carla Jenson; brothers-in-law Vern Hall, Dennis Holland, Jackie Jenson, and Russ Nelson; sisters-in-law Diane Holland, Darlene Jenson, and Pat Mallow; mother-in-law Frances Jenson; and father-in-law Herman Jenson.

Pallbearers include Roland Hall, Dana Jensen, Dale Hall, Danny Jenson, Alex Jenson, and Randy Dahl.

Carol’s family would like to extend their gratitude for the care and compassion provided to Carol in her final days by the nursing staff at Four Seasons Health in Forman, ND, Sanford Clinic in Oakes, ND, and Sanford Broadway in Fargo, ND.
