Carol Koller Olson, 87, passed away February 14, 2024, at Eventide in Moorhead, Minnesota. She was the first born of two girls to Melvin and Hazel (Brown) Myles on February 23, 1936, in Plentywood, Montana. She grew up in Antelope, Montana, where she attended grade school. They moved a short distance to Plentywood, where she attended high school. That is where she met Lawrence Koller.
They were married on November 9, 1953. They moved to a farm south of Glen Ullin, where they started their family. They farmed and raised their children until 1970 when she moved to Mandan, North Dakota. She worked as a cook at Mary College in Bismarck for several years. Later, she moved to Grafton, North Dakota, where she worked in the potato industry. This is where she met Kenny Olson.
They married and moved to Grand Forks, North Dakota, where she attended Aackers Business College. She graduated with a degree in accounting. She took a position with an IMP sales company until experience allowed her to take up UND Grand Forks in payroll. After many years she went to an office position with the Salvation Army. She worked payroll and filing, later adding sales at their thrift store.
She remained there until health reasons forced her to retire. She remained in Grand Forks before moving to assisted living in Fargo, North Dakota, where she remained until her passing on Valentine’s Day in 2024.
She loved doing jigsaw puzzles, playing cards, and dancing. Her favorite music was Jimmy Buffet and Danny O’Donnell.
She is preceded in death by her parents and younger sister Evyonne (Earnie) Verte, Colorado Springs, Colorado; three of her children, Carol Ann of Jacksonville, Florida, Mark of Grand Forks, North Dakota, and Theresa.
She is survived by her daughters Eva of Fargo, North Dakota, Aleta of Idaho, Joan of Rapid City, South Dakota, and Katherine of Wyoming; her sons Martin of Fargo, North Dakota, Mike of Rapid City, South Dakota, and John of Crookston, Minnesota; and many grandchildren and great grandchildren.
