Casey Hokenson, 44, died May 7, 2021 in Fargo, ND. Casey was born December 23, 1976 in Detroit Lakes, MN to Jim and Jane (Neitzke) Hokenson of Detroit Lakes, MN. Casey grew up with his sister Christy in the surrounding Detroit Lakes area and graduated Detroit Lakes High School 1995. On May 3, 2002, he married Nicole Bauman in Fargo, ND. Nicole and Casey set their roots in Fargo, ND where they raised their three children Elliot, Lydia, and Maggie. Casey’s love for technology and strong work ethic landed him as Team Leader at Blue Cross Blue Sheild since 2006, where he took pride in his career and was beloved by his team. In his spare time, Casey never hesitated to lend a hand in helping his family and friends. He volunteered many hours for the Big Brother Program, Centennial Elementary PTO, and throughout the community. Casey was known to never shy away from a good joke. Some of his children’s favorite memories were the ones that makes them laugh the most. At the end of day, he would excitingly exclaim “Where’s my Maggie?” in silly voices and rally up the kids. He was known to ask Lydia to keep him looking young by grooming his grey hairs and liked to tease Elliot about his bold online usernames. He is survived by his wife Nicole, Fargo, ND; children, Elliot, Lydia, and Maggie, Fargo, ND; parents, Jim (Jane) Hokenson, Detroit Lakes, MN; siblings, Christy (BJ) Swanson, Osage, MN; in-laws Ronald (Bonnie) Bauman, Fergus Falls, MN; Chet (Lynn) Bauman, Columbia, TN; James (Jennifer) Bauman, Sioux Falls, SD; 4 nephews and 1 niece; and numerous cousins and friends. In lieu of flowers please send memorials to the American Foundation for Suicide Prevention. A private service will be held. Services will be livestreamed 10 a.m. Thursday, May 13, on Boulger Funeral Home’s website.
