February 18, 1954 ~ October 29, 2024

Born in: Fargo, North Dakota

Cathy Sue Kuehl, age 70, passed away on October 29, 2024, at 11:18 am after a battle with cancer. Cathy was born February 18, 1954, at St. John’s Hospital in Fargo, North Dakota to Duane Kuehl and Donna (Kowalski – Kuehl) Stone. Cathy attended Jefferson Elementary, Agassiz Junior High, Shanley High (during sophomore year), and Fargo South High. Cathy also attended Dakota Business College and MSUM. Cathy was a life-long Fargo resident.

Cathy worked as a job coach at Productive Alternatives and was a dispatcher at Doyle cab company. She recently drove a school bus transporting children to school – working three shifts daily.

Cathy was known for her infectious laugh and silly (and sometimes acerbic) sense of humor. She always reminded us siblings that she was the smart one! She had an amazing memory for dates and knew so many people’s birthdays and other milestones. She wanted to pass on this date to honor her mother and grandma Kuehl who also passed on October 29th. She was able to check off her “bucket list” by staying at the lake, riding a Harley, doing a cannon ball into the lake, and touring the house where she grew up.

She was preceded in death by her mother and father.

She has four siblings: Cynthia (Kuehl) Bartlau (Paul) of Tulsa, Oklahoma and Corona del Mar, California, Kevin (Kuehl) Stone of Tulsa, Oklahoma, Kent (Kuehl) Stone of Tulsa, Oklahoma, and Dr. Kelly (Kuehl) Stone (Susma) of Bethesda, Maryland. Cathy has three nieces and three nephews and many cousins. The cousins have been a blessing to Cathy and her family with special mention of Brenda Woodbury, Becky Bergman, and DeeDee and Johnny Kowalski.

A celebration of life is pending.

  1. We already miss her. She did have a great laugh and an incredible memory for dates. How she arranged to pass on the momentous date of her mom’s and Grandma Kuehl’s death, I’ll never know. I often told her she had the Kuehl trait of being stubborn. Rest in peace, Cathy!!
