Charles Metzroth

Metzroth, Charles J. age 84 of Moorhead, passed away Saturday, October 4, 2003 at Eventide Lutheran Home. Charles was born on October 26, 1918 in Battle Creek, Michigan. He grew up and attended school in St. Cloud, MN. He attended St. John?s University and graduated from St. Cloud State University in 1940. He began working for the St. Cloud Fire Department in 1939. Charles J. Metzroth and Margaret Ruehle were married on June 17, 1940 in St. Cloud, MN. In 1942 he moved to Scott Field, Illinois where he was an instructor with the Air Force until 1946. Charles came to Fargo where he taught at Fargo Central High School and Fargo South High School until retiring in 1980. He is survived by his wife; children, Carole M. Sagen, Moorhead, MN, Mary Kay (Roger) Bernstrom, Hallock, MN, Susan (John) Klassen, Whitefish, MT and Tom (Cindy) Metzroth, Rochester, MN; 2 sisters, Mary Corinne (Howard) Tomasko, St. Louis Park, MN and Emma Renee (Gerald) Hansen, Naples, FL; 7 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents and 1 brother. A private family service will be held at St. Joseph?s Catholic Church, Moorhead, MN. Arrangements with Boulger Funeral Home, Fargo.
