Cheryl Faye Long, 77, died in her home December 22, 2023.

Cheryl and her fraternal twin sister were born December 9, 1946, in Lemmon, SD to Bernard and Naomi (Ruger) Long. Cheryl grew up and attended school in rural South Dakota and shortly after graduation she moved to Rapid City, SD, but eventually moved to Fargo and made it her home.

Cheryl worked at Model Laundry which was renamed to Fargo Laundry and eventually became Leaf Cleaners for well over twenty years. She was also employed by Villa Maria nursing home for numerous years before starting her own daycare, where she took care of and fell in love with so many children.

Cheryl also fell in love with William (Bill) Olson and they were married on March 17, 1982, but sadly divorced several years later. Cheryl was diagnosed with cancer in 2016 and had to close her daycare, after what seemed like a year of radiation and chemo she was cancer free.

Cheryl loved to bake and turn her house into the North Pole at Christmas time, her family and her friends were her world, and she absolutely adored Elvis Presley, collecting anything and everything with his name and picture on it. She was an amazing lady who loved life, we loved her beyond compare and will truly miss her.

Cheryl is survived by her children, Kenneth (Theresa) Long, Fargo; Penny Long, Fargo; four grandchildren, Samantha Johnson, Tyler Long, Melany (Dustin) Olson, and Anissa Long, all of Fargo; four sisters, Bonnie Cahoon, Bismark, ND; her twin Carol (Neil) Lewis, Columbia Falls, MT; Gloria Engelhorn, Morristown, SD; and Julie Long, Kalispell, MT; four great-grandchildren, and several nieces and nephews.

Cheryl is preceded in death by her parents, a sister Rondii Jo Long, her brother Wesley Long, former husband Bill Olson, and her beloved dog, Elvis.
