Christy Machipiness, 41, of Fargo, North Dakota, passed away peacefully on April 15, 2025. She was born on December 27, 1983, in Grand Forks, North Dakota. She is the beloved daughter of Leslie Machipiness and Debra Hendrickson.

Christy was a devoted and loving mother whose greatest joy in life was her daughter, Brooklynn. Brooklynn was truly Christy’s whole world. Together, they created countless memories- going to the parks, watching movies, taking long walks, and attending powwows. Christy especially loved seeing Brooklyn dance at the powwows and proudly crafted beautiful ribbon skirts for her daughter to wear during these special occasions.

Christy’s warmth and infectious laughter lit up every room she entered. She had a gift for making people smile and was deeply loved by her many friends and coworkers. Her loyalty and kindness knew no bounds, and she built lasting friendships with everyone fortunate enough to know her.

Family meant everything to Christy. She was always there for her loved ones, offering unwavering support and encouragement. Despite her own struggles, including a courageous battle with breast cancer and enduring the challenges of chemotherapy, she remained strong-minded and full of hope.

Her strength and resilience were an inspiration to all who knew her, and she proudly achieved remission.

Christy’s memory will be forever cherished by her daughter, Brooklynn Hell of Fargo, ND; her mother, Debra Hendrickson; her brothers, Shaun Machipiness and Cassidy Machipiness (Lynell Poitra); and her sisters, Rebecca LaTraille of Grafton ND, and Tracy L’Esperance of Dunseith, ND.

She was proceeded in death by her father, Leslie Machipiness.

Christy’s final resting place will be at St. Sylvan’s Cemetery in Dunseith, North Dakota, where she will be laid to rest surrounded by the love of family and friends who will continue to honor her beautiful spirit.

Christy’s life was a testament to love, strength, and laughter.

Though she has left this world too soon, her light will continue to shine brightly through all who loved her.

  1. Christy you are certainly missed, you were taken far too soon. I have to laugh every time I think of you watching how to u-tube videos. I wonder which one you would recommend us to watch on how to survive without Christy. I only knew you for a short time, but you made an impact on everyone who had the pleasure of sharing your space even if it was just for a minute or for years. My deepest sympathy goes to your family, friends and Especially your Mom and daughter.

  2. A beautiful and loving person gone way too soon. May the perpetual light shine upon you in your journey. See you on the other side my beautiful friend. May the creator wrap his arms around your family during this time. We will see you again. Fly high beautiful angel.
