Claudia Cossette

Claudia Cossette, 91, of West Fargo, N.D. passed away peacefully surrounded by her loving family Saturday, January 4th 2020 in Mesa Az. Claudia Rollande (Duval) Cossette was born on May 25, 1928 to Arthur and Antoinette Duval on the family farm in Hickson, N.D. she was raised on the farm helping with her mother and chores. Claudia married Roger Cossette on June 9th 1951 in St Benedict N.D. Claudia and Roger we’re blessed with 2 sons Richard and Ken. Claudia was born a caregiver. As a young teenager she helped take care of her many cousins and neighbors children. After her mother was diagnosed with a terminal illness, Claudia cared for her mother until she passed away. When Roger’s nephew, one year old Curtis was left without a mother, Claudia welcomed him into their home and raised him for more than 6 years as a son and a brother to Richard and Ken. Claudia had a compassionate heart and always had an ear for anyone to talk. She could and would talk to anyone about anything. Claudia was a stay at home mom, raising 3 boys, but in 1983 as being empty nesters she helped Roger start a tarp business in their garage in south Fargo. As the family business began to flourish she stayed involved until she retired in 1997. Claudia loved to travel and some of her most favorite destinations were Tahiti and Alaska. After she and Roger retired they spent their winters in Weslaco Tx. and Mesa Az. Summers were very special at their cabin on Big Cormorant Lake. She loved spending time with their children, grandchildren and great grandchildren Claudia is survived by her husband of 68 years, Roger Cossette, sons Richard, Ken (Pam Slifka), sister Dorothy Dubord nephew Curtis (Julie) Cossette, grandchildren Shane (Jenny) Cossette, Stacy Davis, Robert(Wendy)Cossette, Jason (Natalie)Cossette, Jeff(Chanell Clark) Cossette Cory(Mike Swain) Cossette, Paul Johnson , Scott Johnson. She is also survived by great grandchildren Stephanie Cossette, Brandon Cossette, Zoey Cossette, Khloe Cossette, Ashley Davis, Kaleb Davis, Lilly Cossette, Alex Cossette, Jude Johnson, Jannis Johnson and many nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews. Claudia was preceded in death by her parents, step father Arthur Fugere, brother Raymond, sister Yvette Richard, Brother-in-law Nick Richard step sister Hazel Richard Daughters-in-law Brenda Cossette and Kimberly Cossette. Claudia will be missed dearly by all of her family and friends
