Colin's service will be livestreamed below starting at 2:00 PM Saturday, May 1, 2021.
Colin A. MacDonald, 24, passed away unexpectedly in his sleep at home on Saturday April 24th, 2021. Colin was born in St. Paul MN on 11/27/1996. He was baptized as a child and confirmed in his faith as a youth at Hope Lutheran church. He was so well read in the bible that he could quote scripture from memory. He grew up in the Fargo/Moorhead area and graduated from Moorhead High School in 2015. Growing up Colin loved going to the YMCA camp, Swimming, Martial Arts, Tae Kwon Do, and trips to Dad's, playing on the lake and campfires, hotdogs, and smores. In his youth, he spent years living with his uncle Bruce and aunt Kristin McIntyre.  He loved music, playing the violin in orchestra and was very talented playing the guitar.    Colin shared joy with the people around him. He loved to smile, be silly, share goofy jokes, cook, watch movies and spend time with family and friends.  He enjoyed special trips with many different family members to New York, Disneyland, Las Vegas, Salt Lake City and many trips to Canada to see family. In the past few years, he started dating his girlfriend Gericka Charbonneau, who had a positive impact on his life.  They attended and supported The Rock Church.  Pastor Scott and the church greatly influenced Colin's life.   Colin loved his son Kurtis and the time spent with him. Colin is survived by his parents Joan McIntyre, Blaine (Stacy) MacDonald. His sisters, Jade McIntyre-Boe and Brit Lily MacDonald. His son, Kurtis, his grandparents John and Dena McIntyre, Ernie and Marion MacDonald. Many Aunts, Uncles, cousins and friends. Colin had a way of making everyone feel comfortable. Everyone loved his sense of humor and quick wit. Making people smile is what he enjoyed most. The family of Colin MacDonald would like to thank everyone for their thoughts, prayers, and kindness in this time of sorrow. Our wish is that you take the love, joy, and happiness you received from Colin and spread it to those who touch your life. God Bless, No individual acknowledgements will be sent. Please bring a balloon in memory of Colin that reminds you of him to add to the balloon bouquet.

  1. My sweet cousin . I hate I am not there . Lord be with my family . I have never met a man so kind and loving . You will be missed by me . I love you so much . Rest in Heaven my cousin .

  2. Colin, my nephew, your smile and exuberance for life will be missed by so many. We know that you loved God and will see you again one day!
I would like to share a poem by Ellen Brenneman

    His Journey’s Just Begun
Don’t think of him as gone away
    his journey’s just begun,
    life holds so many facets
    this earth is only one.

Just think of him as resting
from the sorrows and the tears
in a place of warmth and comfort
where there are no days and years.

Think how he must be wishing
    that we could know today
    how nothing but our sadness
    can really pass away.

And think of him as living
in the hearts of those he touched…
for nothing loved is ever lost
and he was loved so much.

  3. I’ve had a few days to process this loss, now. Now, I can say a few things. My name is Tess. I am Curtis Caine’s Mother. Curtis was one of Colin’s best friends before Curtis died, 7 years ago. In that time, Colin has continued to stay in touch with me along with a few of my Son’s best friends, and he has always been a light in my life. He named his beautiful Son after my son, his best friend. I got the word he had died a few days ago, and it was like revisiting my own son’s death. Colin was a wonderful young man well on his way to becoming a wonderful and loving Man. He worked so hard to meet his responsibilities, and to honor the love he was given by passing it along. I was impressed with him from the first time I met him, and I will continue to live up to his vision of me as ‘Mamma T’. The world is so much less without him. But, I will keep trying to do what he did: Give my best and to see the best in those around me. Colin, my boy, I will miss you so much.

  4. Thinking of summers together at the lake and family Christmases. There are so many fond memories full of love and laughter. Colin was always smiling and was always ready for an adventure. Colin was an amazing cousin. He is deeply loved and he will be missed greatly.

  5. Colin was the love of my life we had met when I was around 9 years old and had a forever friend ship we started dating in may of 2019 and he brought so much joy in my life and made me feel like a queen he loved me and his son and family and friends so much it’s so hard without him here we had our whole life planned out we had so much memories together that I’m going to forever cherish I will miss and love him forever he will always and forever be my first love and only love of my life he has always had my whole heart and more he’s always been my everything I’m happy I was the one to spend the rest of his life with him I will miss you forever babe you will forever be mine.

  6. Colin was the most welcoming and caring person. Every time I would come to town Colin would make sure to come see me. He always would ask about my life and disabled daughter Megan and how we are doing. He was very genuine and loving. I love you Colin. We were all blessed with that smile he always had on his face. God bless you!

  7. Michael and i are so so sorry for your loss- we never got to know Colin but heard many wonderful things about him and his love of family.
We pray that God keeps you in his comfort during this time of grief and you can look forward to being with Colin in the world made new.

  10. Colin, my boy, I am so proud of the fine young man you are. You cared so much for everyone, and were always concerned that everyone else’s needs were met. Your sense of humor and silliness has brought so much joy and laughter into the world, it brightened the lives of everyone you met. I wish Kurtis had the opportunity to get to know what a wonderful Dad you were. He is so young but I will continue to share stories with him about how great a Dad he had. Brit, Stacy and I will miss you dearly. I cherish all our time together playing on the lake, trips to Canada, the Love we share will never end, Until we meet again, Jesus please take care of my boy. God Bless him, and keep him safe. I Love you and miss you so much. Dad

  11. Taken way too soon, too young and a promising life ahead of him.

We’re all missing you my little brother. You will always be remembered and your memory will remain in our hearts.

Your spirit is always with us, and we shall meet again when it’s our turn to go home to heaven.

Our father in heaven comforts us to dull the pain and suffering that we are all feeling. But there will always reside in our hearts that little bit of pain.

You were a respectable loving young man, and we are all missing you dearly.

Our deepest and heartfelt condolences my family and I send to the family members and friends of Colin. And we are sincerely deeply sorry for your loss!

    RIP Colin.

    Love you eternally. 🙏🙏

  13. Blaine and Family we are truly sorry to hear about the passing of Colin. You are in our thoughts and prayers. We will be thinking of all of you at this difficult time.

  14. I can remember the relaxing summertime spent with a Colin and the family. One summer, Colin and I got the honourable role of being dressed up and powdered up like pretty girls and we named Daxtina and Colina. Boy oh boy were we ever pretty! There is a photo out there somewhere of us two that day and I swear it would make anyone laugh seeing us two. Another memory that brings a warm smile to my face, is one summer, our family picked up you up and were heading out somewhere. It had been a long time since I last saw or spoke with my cousin, Colin, and I can distinctively remember the moment he stepped into the vehicle and said “hey guys!” My gosh, Colin’s voice had become much deeper than mine! He was a grown man to me at that time! I was nervous that Colin had changed so much that he wouldn’t play with me anymore, until we got home. It didn’t take long at all before him and I downstairs in his bedroom playing Star Wars on his PlayStation once again. Colin hadn’t changed one bit, and I loved every single moment spent with Colin.
Colin, you will be missed, buddy. I will miss your uplifting smile and childish laugh. I will miss playing Star Wars with you and swimming out in the lake. You will be missed dearly, and I wish I could give you one last big hug. Take it easy Colin, I love you lots.

  15. Colin was the best cousin out there. Every time we had a family gathering his happy, energetic personality and smile shown through. His big smile was always on his face which never failed to light up the room. He will be missed so much by friends and family. Rest in peace, Colin.

  16. I remember having a lot of laughs and espicially playing basketball outside in the driveway when Colin would come over to my parents house to hang out when we were younger. It was always a good time with him.

  17. I have some wonderful memories of Colin he was always smiling and ready for a hug. I had Colin come over to my place for the holidays he was happy to be around us . Memories of him at Rock Church I always looked forward to seeing him and Gericka at church . He would help around the church . Rock Church and myself are sure going to miss him . Till we see you again Colin in heaven . Love you and forever be in our hearts ♥️

  18. Colin was always such a nice young man. I remember him always laughing and joking with family and friends.
We send our deepest sympathies to Blaine, Stacy, Brit and Kurtis, and the rest of Colin’s family. Much love and light to you all. May Colins love live on in your hearts.

  19. Colin you are my friend. I will miss you. I remember you coming over to my house and hang out . I remember you and Jada going trick or treating with me that was fun. We had fun together. I love you and will miss you my friend my cousin. Love you. I’m sad you are not here. Bye see you in heaven someday.

  20. I don’t have words to fully express just how sorry we are to hear about your loss. Please know your family is in our thoughts and prayers. Please let us know if there is anything we can do to help now or in the future. May God wrap his arms around you and your family in this time of need.

  21. My heart aches to hear about Colin passing.. My Thoughts and Prayers are with you and your family..

  22. Colin Your are the best gift God has ever granted me. My Cup Runneth over with blessings from you. I love you to life and to the ends of the universe. Everyday as the sun would rise my love for you would grow stronger. If the sun would fail to rise in the morning I would still love you and be complete. I don’t know how I will carry on with -out you. All I know is that you were the best thing I ever did in my life. You were a strong beautiful young man. I forever will be proud of you , and even though your gone. My love will go on. Love you forever and more. You mother Joan.

  23. I’m so truly sorry to hear the sad news! Our thoughts and prayers to your family during this difficult time. Our deepest condolences to your family and may God give you strength to heal. May the memories you hold in your hearts bring healing and peace to your hearts! It just breaks my heart to hear someone so young with so much life to live passing. I just can’t imagine the pain it would take to loose a child. You will be greatly messed!

One good memory I had with Colin is when I babysit him a handful of times when he and his dad, Blaine lived in Glencoe! He was such a fun kid! RIP Colin

  25. Colin, I knew you as a little boy. We would spend time together on our trips back and forth from Fargo. As I read others talking about your sense of humor and silliness, I was reminded of a particular memory. After one of our trips from Fargo your dad and I were talking. You had disappeared for a little while. We went to check and found you in the bathroom. You had squirted soup all over the bathroom floor and were sliding across it having a blast. I brings a smile to my face remembering that day. You will be missed by so many.
To your family and friends, my thoughts and prayers are with you.

  26. Condolences to all Colin’s family and friends. We are Blaine’s Uncle and Auntie, we had the privilege of spending time with Colin when he came to Canada for one of his family visits. We spent the day together discovering the history of Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan. Colin was about 12 and was such a nice young man, he was funny, loved to tell stories and we had wonderful conversations with him. He was loved by so many and he will be missed by our family. Love and Rest In Peace sweet Colin,

  27. Colin was a child you wanted your children to interact with. He was always kind and considerate My children loved playing and hanging out with him. One thing about Colin was his smile. This is something that comes to mind first about him. It was infectious and could light up any room. I am so so sorry for your lose.

  28. My deepest heartfelt sympathies for the family. No words can take away your sorrow or pain! Just know Colin was loved by many…. he will be greatly missed🙏🌹💖

  29. Blaine, Stacy, and Brit, We are so sorry for your loss and you’re in our thoughts and prayers. The memories of Colin’s big smile as he played at your home will stay with us always.

  30. Colin was a bright light and would light up even the arrest room with his smile, humor, and kindness. He was charming, friendly, and always had a smile each time I saw him. He was greatly loved and will be greatly missed.
RIP Colin, until we meet again by all who had the pleasure of meeting him.

  31. Dearest Colin we are so grateful to have had you in our lives creating memories at the cabin, at Disneyland, but especially that special Christmas. We got a chance to teach you of MacDonald family traditions, and make you an honorary member of team Erickson. We can hardly believe that we will not get a chance to see you again. Also there is an Uncle Mike who never got a chance to meet you, but feels that he knows you from us sharing our memories with him. You will always be loved and forever be missed. We were all so blessed to have you in our family. Love forever and always Auntie Keri

  32. I’m a close friend of Brit’s and I just wanted to say that I am so incredibly sorry for your loss, I can’t even begin to imagine how hard this is for you guys. I’m always here to support you guys no matter what, if you ever need to talk I’m here, may he rest in peace.

  33. Grief never ends….But it changes. It’s a passage, not a place to stay. Trief is not a sign of weakness, nor a lack of faith…It is the price of “love”. Miss you, your smile, and your sense of humor. It was always a pleasure to have you around. Until we meet again.
    Love Grandma and Grandpa MacDonald

  34. Blaine and family,

So sorry for the loss of Colin. Our thoughts and prayers are with you all.

  35. Colin was my brother. We were so close and I will never forget all the memories at the lake or all the pranks we would do. You were always there for me and ready to hold my hand and stay with me until I was better. I remember all the summers we had together. Just last summer on the 4th of july we had to go to town and go get something. We got to town and you wanted Starbucks, so when we got to Starbucks. You told me “hey britster, every single time I see you for now on, we are going to go get coffee and have some brother sister time”. I am so sorry that we couldn’t do that on last time. You we’re the best big brother I could have ever asked for. You will always be in my heart. I love you to the moon and back.
    Love britster

  42. I remember Colin running around as a young toddler when we were first getting started in chiropractic. Grabbing the testers and even pretending to muscle test like his dad. My heart aches for your loss but I rejoice in knowing he is home.

  43. What can I say about Collin. He is loved and will be missed. I met Collin when he visited his parent’s place on Lake Alley while helping his father with some projects. He always had a smile and was willing to give a hand to help out. I have a lot of memories of him around the campfire with friends and family cooking hotdogs or toasting smores, but one memory stands out. . Blaine, Collin, and I went for a canoe ride early one morning around the shoreline of Lake Alley, while the sun came up. It was so calm and picture perfect. Just 3 guys sharing stories, telling jokes, and laughing. We will all miss him.

  44. Colin was a bright and caring young man. Although we didn’t see him often, memories of family vacations and cousins playing together (particularly at mom & dad’s cabin in Saskatchewan) are filled with fondness and joy. The memories of his silly laugh, infectious smile and boyish humour bring my heart joy. I’m deeply saddened that we’ve lost Colin far too soon.

To friends and family of Colin, let memories of times you shared with him give you comfort, for his life was rich because of you.

Our love and condolences to my brother Blaine, sister-in-law Stacey, and niece Brit (‘Peanut’). Also to Joan and family, and to Gericka. You’re in our thoughts and prayers.

    Christine (Auntie Muck) and Rick

  45. My condolences go out to you Brit and family during this time of grief. 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏

  46. Colin, I’ll never forget all the memories we have together. I loved how you would never let a room be silent, you always had a funny joke, story, some sort of idea of shenanigans we could get up to, or youd just sit there with that big beautiful grin on your face until everyone was smiling with you. A story that captures your spirit in whole for me is that time you wanted to try wakeboarding. I warned you the boat wasnt very powerful, it was wavy, water was pretty cold. But you didnt care about any of that because you had your mind set on it. So we tried! Sat there in the water with our teeth chattering away, you were taking on alot of water, but still smiling ear to ear the whole time. And you didnt give up till you finally popped out of the water.
    Love you forever and always,
    Robbie Erickson

  47. Thinking back on the time I spent with my cousin, Colin, I can’t remember a single time that he didn’t have a big smile on his face. The definition of happy go lucky, he always knew how best to spread his endless joy. I will never forget his heartfelt and innocent laughter. Colin, I’m sorry we couldn’t spend more time together in this life. You’re forever in our hearts. Rest easy, cousin

  48. Blaine, Stacy, and Brit, my deepest condolences on the passing of Colin on behalf of my family. Colin was such a bright light with a bright smile. The service was such a wonderful tribute to the person Colin was, and the lives he touched. It is difficult to understand how this can happen, and while we are not always in control of what life throws us, at least you had this time to love and experience Colin. May his memories bring you comfort in time. If there is anything we can do please know we are here for you. Take care.

  49. Joan,

My deepest condolences to you. Colin was such a bright soul with a beautiful smile. I am so sorry this has happened. May God bless you with the strength to get you through this difficult time. May the great memories of Colin bring you comfort in time. Until then find comfort in friends and family. Tale care.

  50. As a child I taught Colin to kiss peoples hands and say ” Your so enchanting and Charming ” From the movie it takes two. I have been hearing much feedback from others that Colin used to do this to say and use this as a greeting gesture to several people. The one that was enchanting and charming was Colin my precious son.

  51. Colin you will be missed your laughter , Jokes, sweet smile, and the kindness in your heart that you cared for other’s always. You specially had a heart for the elderly and disable individuals . We here are the ones in pain missing you, but we know the Joy you have now in heaven with Jesus. We are happy for you. We will see you again in heaven. Then we all can share in the blessings of heaven

  52. You will always be in my heart and never forgotten. I loved you to the moon and back. Be happy with Jesus until we can be together again. Love Aunt Aggie

  53. My family knew Colin as a little boy during his time spent with his dad in Glencoe. A typical, busy, mischievous kid. Full of laughs and making people laugh with his antics. He was ALL boy!! My heart hurts for all of his family. I cannot imagine the shock of the unexpected loss. For reasons unknown to us on earth, God had a different plan for him. Praying for comfort for those left behind. Godspeed, Colin.

  54. Colin my son wrote the following;
A hundred years from now it will not matter what my bank account was, the sort of house I lived in, and the kind of clothes I wore, but the world may be much different because I was important in the life of a child.
