Connor Clayton Dahlvang, cherished son, brother, uncle, grandson, nephew and friend, was born on March 13, 2001, in Fargo, ND, to parents Daniel and M. Shannon (Heising) Dahlvang. Connor passed away unexpectedly on Wednesday, April 8, 2026.

Connor had a zest for life that was unrivaled. He loved people, he loved animals and most of all, he loved his family. His two nieces and nephew held a special place in his heart, and he thoroughly enjoyed playing games and video games, attending their activities and having family time with them. Connor also adored his little kitty Violet. Connor had a deep desire to help others and was generous to a fault. He loved games and some of his favorites were pool, pinochle, and chess. He has many fond memories of going fishing at his Uncle Dean and Aunt Donna’s lake cabin and spending time at his grandparent’s farm in Verndale, MN.

Connor excelled in academics. He graduated from Davies High School with top honors and as Senior Class President. He received his Bachelor of Arts in Political Science from Minnesota State University at Moorhead. His dream was to be a lawyer and he was one semester away from graduating from UND School of Law.

Connor is survived by his parents, brother Drew, sister Hannah (Mark Rittenour), nephew Carter Rittenour, nieces Chloe and Emma Rittenour, his grandmothers Martha Dahlvang and Katie Heising, and many loving aunts, uncles, cousins and countless friends.

Connor was preceded in death by his paternal grandfather LaVerne Dahlvang, his maternal grandfather James Heising, and his aunt Colleen Heising.

Connor was loved deeply by many and will be missed dearly. Not a day will go by that we won’t remember the light he brought to our lives with his laughter, smiles and love. Our hearts are shattered, but we find some comfort knowing he has found peace and is surrounded by loved ones we know greeted him with open arms upon his arrival in heaven.

You have earned your angel wings Connor, it is now your turn to soar!

What a kind, beautiful person Connor was. I haven’t seen him in years but as his neighbor I have fond memories of him…mowing my lawn and having fun swimming with his dad at my pool. I so enjoyed his big bright smile and how polite he always was! Didn’t surprise me that he was a leader in his class and had high goals for himself.
Fly high Conner…rest well in the arms of Jesus…and thank you God, for your promise that we can all see Connor again, in your time. 🙏🙏🙏

  21. To Connor’s loving family,
My sincere condolences to you all. May God give you His peace, comfort, and love.
I taught at Discovery and have a son Connor’s age. I met Connor when he and I saw each other at Fargo City Commission meetings several years ago. We would sit together and converse and I would what I had experienced in the political world. He was the nicest young man, who was curious, highly intelligent and a wonderful person. I ran into him a couple years ago and he was as sweet as ever. While his family, friends and anyone who knew Connor are mourning on earth, heaven is rejoicing as they receive a vibrant and kind angel, Connor.

  22. I am heartbroken for your loss. I was Conner’s fifth grade teacher. I so enjoyed him and his wry sense of humor and infectious grin! It was a joy to have him in my classroom and Conner was one of the reasons I loved my job. I ran into him later as a young adult and he hadn’t lost his sense of humor or his grin! Conner will be sorely missed. Hoping your memories will help you through. Prayers to your family.

  23. Kent and I are so sorry to hear about Connor. It is so difficult to lose a child. We are sending our prayers and hugs.

My deepest condolences to his family and closest friends – he will be missed in this world!

  26. I taught Connor a law class in the Fall 2025. He was always present, prepared , and unfailingly pleasant. He was intellectually curious and interested in our class. I am so sorry to hear of his passing. Thoughts and prayers to his family and friends.
