Corrine Nygaard

Corrine Judith Nygaard, 90, passed away peacefully on Saturday, November 4, 2023, in Stillwater, MN.

She was born August 20, 1933, in Kindred, ND to Albert & Gertrude Graff. She grew up and went to school in Kindred until meeting Lyle Nygaard of Shelly, MN. They married May 4, 1955, and moved to Mountain Home, Idaho, where they lived for 4 years.

In 1959 they moved their family to White Bear Lake, MN, where she raised a family and worked bartending. She moved to Webster, WI in the 70’s where she retired from bartending before returning to Fargo to be near her family, and eventually to Stillwater. Corrine enjoyed people, animals, puzzles, cross stitching, pizza, and painting her fingernails.

Corrine is survived by her sister, Evelyn Wirth; brother-in-law, Wesley Nelson; children, Lyndon (Marcy) Nygaard of Lake Elmo, MN, Brenda (Daniel) Henning of Magnolia, TX, Pamela (Saverio) Minardi of Plattsburgh, NY; 11 Grandchildren; and 14 Great-Grandchildren.

Corrine is preceded in death by her son, Robert Nygaard; grandson, Andrew Gruber; former husband, Lyle Nygaard; parents, Albert & Gertrude Graff; siblings, Gordon Graff, Aagot (Charley) Hanson, Garnet (Maurice) Floberg, Beatrice (Jim) Mortenson, Irene Nelson, Marlene (Gene) Berquest, and Doris (Elroy) Alverson.

Corrine’s wishes were for her ashes to be scattered from the bridge over the Sheyenne River in Kindred.

Corrine will be missed by many, forgotten by none, and loved by all forever.
