Cynthia A. Erickson, 70, of West Fargo, ND, passed away on Wednesday, October 7, 2026, at Bethany Retirement Living in Fargo.
Cindy was born on April 21, 1956, in Lisbon, North Dakota, to Lawrence and Mary (Anderson) Stroh. She grew up in Lisbon and graduated from Lisbon High School in 1974. She continued her education at Valley City State University, where she earned a degree in Education.
In 1982, Cindy married C.C. Erickson, and the couple made their home in West Fargo. Cindy spent over 30 years working at Pioneer Mutual, where she dedicated much of her professional life.
Cindy loved spending time at her lake home on Star Lake, where she could soak up the sunshine and enjoy being by the water. She cherished the wonderful group of friends she had maintained since high school and especially enjoyed traveling, getting together, and taking “girls’ weekends” with them. She also loved reading, shopping, and spending time with her beloved dogs, Panda and Otis.
Above all, Cindy treasured her family, especially her children and grandchildren. She shared an incredibly special bond with her grandson, Brooks, for whom she had the joy of being the “grandma sitter” during the first five years of his life. Those years together created countless memories and a connection that was truly special to them both.
Cindy always took pride in looking her best, especially when it came to having her nails done and looking put together. She had the best smile, an infectious laugh, and a fun-loving personality that made her a joy to be around. She was genuinely kind to everyone she met and had a way of making people feel welcome and comfortable. Whether she was enjoying the sunshine at the lake, laughing with her girlfriends, or spending time with her family, Cindy knew how to enjoy life and make the most of the moments that mattered. Her warmth, laughter, and love for those around her will be deeply missed.
Cindy is survived by her husband, C.C. Erickson; children, Jordan (Jess) Erickson and Taylor (Wade) Thornton; grandchildren, Brooks Thornton and Tucker Thornton; and siblings, Jackie Stroh and Larry Stroh.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Lawrence and Mary Stroh.

So very sad to hear of Cindy’s passing. I worked with her and Taylor at NDAS on campus. Always a smile and happy. So sad as she and Kay were always sitting together and now they are both gone way to soon!
