Daniel Lunde

Daniel “Danny” G. Lunde passed away June 25, 2024 peacefully at Essentia Health. Dan was born March 27,1952 to Larry and Orpha (Rustad) Lunde in Fargo, ND. Dan graduated high school from Casselton, ND in 1970. He attended North Dakota School of Forestry in Bottineau, ND and graduated in 1972.

Dan went on to work as a bartender at the Red Baron for some time and served as a member of the Volunteer Fire Department in Casselton, when he was home. Dan then started driving truck over the road for various companies until his retirement in 2023 from Killoran Trucking in Buffalo, ND.

Dan enjoyed cooking when he wasn’t on the highway and watching NASCAR racing.

Dan met Juli (Rost) on Valentines Day in 1976. With a whirlwind romance, the two were married on December 11, 1976. They made their home in Casselton and would go on to share 47 years of marriage together before his passing.

Dan is survived by his wife, Juli, Casselton, ND; brother, Terry (Sue) Lunde, Fargo, ND; and many nieces and nephews.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Larry and Orpha Lunde; in-laws, Clayton and Margaret Rost; brother-in-law Darrel Rheault; niece, Ronauda Moore; and great-niece, Kayla Disher.
