Daniel G. Navarro Sr., 61, of Fargo, died May 27, 2008 in MeritCare Medical Center, Fargo. Daniel was born on June 16, 1946 to Raymond and Ruth (Rodriguez) Navarro in Fargo, ND. He grew up in Fargo, attending Parochial and Fargo Public Schools, graduating from Central High in 1964. He then enlisted in the Army, serving in Germany from 1965-1968. He married Erlene Rugg on June 4, 1969 in South Dakota. Then enrolled in St. Luke?s School of Respiratory Therapy. After graduation, he continued to work at St. Luke?s Hospital for 26 years. He retired from MeritCare in 1993. In 1993 he began working for CostCare Medical Store doing home care as a Respitory Therapist, retiring in 2007. Daniel?s passion was music. He was the lead singer in Danny Navarro and the Corvels. In 1965 he released a record, LaBamba, which did very well on the local charts and the West Coast. He then later founded a family band, Crystal Haze in 1973 and was a member until his death. He is survived by fianc?, Lynette Schon of Fargo; five children; three daughters, Lisa (Matt) Faul of Fargo, ND, Tina (Mike) Pancirov of Las Vegas, NV, Vanessa Navarro of Fargo, ND; two sons, Danny Jr. (Erin Olson) Navarro of Grand Forks, ND, John (Holly) Carnes of Missoula, MT; five grandchildren, Brianna Faul, Gavin Pancirov, Sam Carnes, Darian Pancirov, Andi Carnes; five brothers, Raymond (Georgette) Navarro of Westminster, CA, Nick (Lucille) Navarro of Fort Collins, CO, Tom (Sharon) Navarro of Fargo, ND, Mario (Pam) Navarro of Fargo, Nick Navarro Jr. of Fargo, ND; five sisters, Tillie (Paul) Perez of Fargo, ND, Minnie Garcia of Fargo, ND, Julie (Lyle) Schumacher of Chillicothe, OH, Mary Navarro of Fargo and Lola (Tom) Gonzales of Westminster, CA. He is preceded in death by his parents; wife Erlene in 1993; his sister, Francis Elizondo and brother Jesse Navarro. The family would like to acknowledge the loving and selfless act of Daniel?s fianc?, Lynette Schon, in donating a kidney for transplant to Daniel. Visitation: 5-7 pm Sunday at Boulger Funeral Home - and also one hour prior to the service in the church on Monday. Prayer Service: 7 pm Sunday at Boulger Funeral Home.
