Darlyne Floberg
April 18, 1930 ~ November 19, 2023
Darlyne Floberg peacefully passed away on November 19, 2023, at the age of 93. She was born on April 18, 1930, in Dilworth, Minnesota, to N.L. and Lida (Harfield) Costello.
Darlyne’s life was defined by her unwavering love for her family and her deep-rooted faith in the Catholic Church. She united in marriage with the love of her life, Leonard Floberg Sr.
After dedicating many years of her professional life to the City of Moorhead during her time keeping the books, Darlyne gracefully embarked on her retirement in the 1980s. Alongside Leonard, she embraced the opportunity to explore the USA. California and Padre Island, Texas, were a couple notable destinations.
Darlyne’s faith was an important cornerstone of her life, and she was an active member of the Catholic community. She found great solace and strength in her involvement with Sts. Anne and Joachim Catholic Church, and St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, where she fostered deep relationships with fellow parishioners and continuously demonstrated her commitment to her beliefs.
Known for her green thumb and love for nature, Darlyne’s garden bloomed with vibrant colors and beautiful blossoms. With great care and affection, she nurtured her plants, tending to them like cherished children.
Darlyne is survived by her son Leonard (Nancy) Floberg; her grandchildren Paul (Winnie) Floberg, Kadie (Ryan) Roth, and Jenny (Konrad) Schmall; great-grandchildren Kayleigh Roth, Rylen Roth, Kennedy Schmall, Kadynce Schmall, Omari Floberg, and one great-grandchild to be; sisters Romayne Rishel, Joyce Nelson, and Jean Ulness; as well as many other family members and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband Leonard Floberg; parents N.L. and Lida Costello; and brother Ron Costello.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Sts. Anne and Joachim Catholic Church, a place that held a special place in her heart. These donations will continue her legacy of faith and support the community that she held dear.
