David Leslie Cook Fargo, North Dakota David passed away on Friday, May 2, 2008 at MeritCare Hospital in Fargo at the age of 50. David was born on September 14, 1957 in Detroit Lakes, MN, the son of Leslie and Delores (Tranholt) Cook. He grew up in Mahnomen, MN and graduated from Mahnomen High School in 1976. David attended the University of Minnesota in Morris and Crookston, MN. He began working for Ystebo Drywall in Moorhead in 1978 and worked side by side with his brother, Dale for 30 years. David was united in marriage to Elaine Luckow on April 12, 1980 at First Lutheran Church in Mahnomen. After their marriage they made their home and raised their two children in Fargo, ND. David was a very loving, devoted husband and father. He shared his love daily with his family through laughter and life. David always enjoyed making or finding time to get together with his family. He was creative and self-taught in many areas, unselfishly sharing his knowledge and time; in doing so helped to improve other people?s lives beyond the task involved. David?s passionate hobbies included woodworking, music/guitar, and camping with his family. His woodworking included portraits of Jesus Christ our Savior, made with our Creator?s wood from all over the world. As much as David relished woodworking, music, and camping, his deepest love was his family. David infused his wit into any situation, making time spent with him enjoyable and memorable. He was a very talented individual with a generous nature, always willing to share his gifts with others. He continued that in death through the gift of organ/tissue donation. Through David?s gift and his family?s gift, multiple lives are changed forever. David is survived by his loving wife, Elaine; his son, Tyler; and his daughter, Sarah all of Fargo; his sister, Carol (Paul) Walswick of Halstad, MN; his brother, Dale (Joan) Cook of Fargo; several nieces, nephews, and great nephews; and many other very special relatives and friends. His parents and his sister, JoAnn Cook preceded David in death. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred in David?s honor.
