David Dean Rusch, 68, Fargo ND passed away Thursday May 2 2024 surrounded by his loving family.

David was born March 24, 1956 in Harvey ND to Cameron and Mavis Rusch. He graduated from Fargo South High in 1974. He pitched at the college level for the University of North Dakota, Mesa Arizona Community College, and Kansas University. He was inducted into the Fargo American Legion Post 2 Hall of Fame in 2009.

David worked at Stellar Trenching. For many years he could be found knocking the pins down at the Bowler on Friday nights. His other hobbies included playing softball with his dad and brother, cards, and pool. He had a great sense of humor and an ability to get along with anyone he met.

David is survived by his father, Cameron Rusch, Fargo ND, brother Joel (Karen) Rusch, Fargo ND, sister Lori (Tom) Jahner Colleyville TX, nieces and nephews, Bailey (Craig) Keller, Max (Donna) Rusch, Adam (Ashely) Jahner, Courtney (Jacob) Wickliffe, great nephews Easton Keller, Christian Keller, Jaeden Forbes, Myles Jahner.

He was preceded in death by his mother Mavis Rusch and niece Megan Jahner.

Celebration of life will take place at the Bowler May 9th 4pm – 7pm.

All memorials will go towards the David Rusch Fargo American Legion Post 2 Scholarship fund.

  1. I was saddened to hear of Dave’s passing. Dave was my coach for Post 2 baseball. He was fantastic. Great to be around. Definitely knew his baseball. Especially, pitching. Coach Harter must have needed a pitching coach in heaven. God, sent Dave. He will be missed. Gods blessings to his family.

  3. We are so sad by Dave’s passing. So many memories from grade school days to now. Playing ball, getting into some fun, bowling and just being a good friend. That kind heart of Dave’s was huge. We will be missing you at the golf tournament this summer buddy. And missing you along the next years.

  6. R.I.P. Ruscher. You will be missed. Great memories bowling ,playing softball and just having fun. I was at his Am Legion baseball induction and was amazed at the records and stats he had. He always had fun doing everthing

  7. Friday night bowling will have a different look to it not seeing the black hammer racing down the left side of the lanes hunting for pins .and not seeing the “walk away Renae” what a move that was!

  8. I was saddened to hear about the loss of Dave. I met Dave as a freshman in High School. He was kind, caring, and had a good sense of humor. We shared some wonderful times together. I will miss him and his smile.
    I will be out of town and unable to attend Dave’s services however I wanted the family to know they will be in my thoughts
