David John Moe, age 62, passed away on March 3rd, 2023 at St. Catherine North Nursing Home.
David attended the Harbor School in Moorhead, MN at the age of four, the Presbyterian School at age six, and at age eight he entered the Fargo Public Schools special education program from which he graduated in May 1981. David then began work at the Developmental Work Activity Center (DWAC) in August of that year where he took part in community work projects.
In 1995 David participated in powerlifting for the National Special Olympics in New Haven, CT.
In 2004 David began working at Friendship Vocational. While there he delivered meals on wheels, worked at the recycling center and post office, and other community offerings.
In 2006 David moved to Friendship Village which his mother had been instrumental in developing. David shared his home with Chuck Millette, a good friend from preschool, for his entire time at Friendship Village. His good friends, Brian Sauvageau and Eddie Tornow, also resided at Friendship. In December 2019 David moved to St. Catherine North Nursing Home when he became nonambulatory due to a fall.
David loved music, dancing, The Brady Bunch, collecting videos, horsing around, celebrating his birthday, and especially visiting his extended family.
David was a gentle soul who was innocent, loving, and taught everyone the meaning of selflessness. DAVID IS FOREVER YOUNG.
David was preceded in death by his parents, Lester and Katherine Moe. He is survived by his siblings Georgia (Jack) Klein, Judy (Roger) Deters, Connie (Jay) Gardner, Richard Moe, and 14 nieces and nephews.

The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Friendship Village, the nurses and staff at St. Catherine North Nursing Home, and Hospice of Red River Valley for their loving and compassionate care for David over the years and in his final months.

I am so sorry to hear about David. Such a kind loving soul. Blessed to have spent many years being his neighbor. May he rest in peace, with him surrounded by his parents once again. David was such a good friend of my brother Paul Sornsin. They always enjoyed their many times together, as did all of us who witnessed their deep friendship, sense of humor and love for life. David will be missed.

Dear David rest in peace! You will surely brighten heaven with all the joyful gifts God gave you! I remember you from our CCD classes at St. Anthony’s with Chuck and Brian and many others. I was always happy to encounter you and your Mom at different events and at church. I will remember your joyful spirit and wonderful smile!!
