David Wolf, a resident of Fargo, ND, passed away on January 20th, 2024. Born on March 10th, 1954, at Good Samaritan Hospital in Rugby, ND, David’s life journey was one filled with love, joy, and cherished memories.
Graduating from high school in Towner, ND, David met the love of his life, Sharon Sebastian, creating a bond that would withstand the test of time.
On October 11th, 1975, David and Sharon united in marriage, embarking on a journey of enduring love, partnership, and commitment. After their marriage, they moved to Valley City, where Sharon ran a daycare and worked at Pamida while David began his career at Cass County Electric, contributing his skills as a utility lineman worker until 1978. His dedication led him to Verendrye Electric in Harvey, where he continued as a utility lineman worker and a volunteer fire fighter until 1982.
In pursuit of new opportunities, David and Sharon relocated to Williston, ND. There, he transitioned to the postal service, where he worked as a letter carrier. His commitment and diligence led to a brief stint as postmaster in Grenora, ND, before resuming his role as a letter carrier in Williston, a position he held for 30 years until his retirement from the USPS in 2012.
During his time in Williston, he was an honorary member of the Knights of Columbus, a Pheasants Forever board member, and a postal union steward, which exemplified his commitment to service and community. He spent most of his spare time outdoors hunting and fishing with many of his closest friends or at home tending to his lawn and his garden.
David was known for his passion for sports throughout his life where he participated in all kinds of sporting leagues in Valley City, Harvey, and Williston enjoying softball, wally-ball, racquetball, intramural volleyball and later as a city league basketball referee. He helped coach many of his children’s youth basketball seasons throughout the years, which brought him great joy. He recently spent a great deal of time playing pickleball and golfing numerous times each week, sometimes doing both in one day with his friends in Fargo.
David and Sharon welcomed three children into their lives: Jeremy, Michell (Swenson), and Shawn. The family expanded, and David became a loving father-in-law to Alison (Conyers) Wolf, Nick Swenson, and Amanda (Anderson) Wolf.
Upon moving to Fargo in May of 2013, Dave’s passion turned to his seven grandchildren where he attended hundreds of activities watching Connor, Braden, Avery, Carter, Bastian, Tyler, and Boston throughout the metro area and Bismarck. He enjoyed every minute of this time. He was so proud of his family and their activities. His employment with Sanford Healthcare Accessories brought him many new personal friendships and allowed him to continue to interact and give care to people in need in the community. In true fashion, he transitioned from walking up to ten miles a day on his mail route to carrying hospital beds and equipment up numerous flights of stairs. He always loved challenging physical work.
A celebration of David’s life will take place on Sunday January 28th, at Boulger Funeral Home in Fargo, ND. In lieu of flowers, the family kindly requests donations be made to The Outdoor Adventure Foundation at https://outdooradventurefoundation.org/ in David’s honor.
David Wolf’s departure leaves a void in the hearts of those who knew him, but his spirit will forever remain in the cherished memories and the lives he touched. May he rest in eternal peace.

I have been a neighbor to Dave for many years. He was the best neighbor I could have ever had. Thanks Dave for the laughs and helping me out. To Sharon and family please know that you are in my prayers.
Sharon and Family, My heartfelt condolences at this sad time. Dave was a wonderful guy. I have so many great memories. The hunts we had together, the laughs we had together. Just such an outstanding person. My thoughts and prayers go out to your entire family.
I will forever remember our visit with Dave and Sharon last October. Sharon’s sister brought over a butterfly that just broke through its cocoon and was preparing itself, before it spread its wings, to fly for the first time. When it was ready, it gently took off finding its way to a place called home. Dave reminds me of that butterfly. He has broken free from all pain, has prepared himself for the journey and has now found his way “home”. RiP, Dave 🙏
Our love goes out to Sharon, Jeremy, Shawn, Michelle, and families; Kathy, Jim, and family and Aunt Barbara during these difficult days ahead. May God be with you all. Hugs! ❤️
