Dayle L. Whitson, 78, passed away peacefully on April 30th, 2021 at Rosewood in Fargo, N.D. Dayle was born September 26th, 1942 to William and Donna (Thronson) Whitson in Thief River Falls, Minnesota. He graduated from Thief River Falls High School in 1960, then served as a Specialist in the National Guard from 1960-1964. He was an over-the-road truck driver for over 40 years, hauling necessities all across the United States. He lived in Floodwood, Minnesota most of his adult life and spent the last few years in the care of his daughter, Kim, in Fargo. Dayle was a die hard Minnesota Vikings fan hoping to see them win the Super Bowl. He will be remembered as a kind, gentle soul, with a great sense of humor. He is survived by his daughter Kim (Brad) Davis, Fargo, N.D.; son Dustin Carlson, Duluth, MN; two brothers, Vern (Mary) Whitson, Maryland, and Merlin Whitson, Nevada; two sisters, Bonnie (Mike) Brewer and Vicki Kvasager, both of Grand Forks, N.D.; 7 grandchildren, Jory (Jess) Jahner, Lee Gullickson, Samantha (Alex) Haas, Jenna and Michael Hass, Noble and Nordic Carlson; 7 great-grandchildren, Bridgette, Jason, Jared, Jacob, Jessalynn, Cassidy and Molli; many nieces and nephews, as well as sister-in-law Jean Whitson of California, and son-in-law Brent Hass of Fargo, N.D. He is preceded in death by his daughter, Krystal Whitson; brother, LeRoy Whitson; and parents, William and Donna Whitson. There will be a private family service at a later date.
