Resided in: Fargo, ND

Deb Kuntz, 71, Fargo, ND, passed away on August 18, 2023 at Essentia Health in Detroit Lakes, MN.

Deborah Ann Frohlich was born on November 27, 1951 to Thomas and Jeanette (Miller) Frohlich in Mandan, ND.

She attended Dickinson State University, and received a Bachelor of Science degree in Secondary Education. She was in IT Project Management and spent 35 years in the telecommunications, insurance, and banking industries. She was very active at St. Anthony’s Catholic Church; including the finance committee, altar linens, food pantry, and was a proclaimer. Deb was very committed to her faith and lived her life accordingly.

Deb was united in marriage to Robert Kuntz on June 3, 1972. She loved family get-togethers and would always cook up big meals for everyone to indulge in. Easter and Christmas were especially enjoyable to her. She ensured even down to the dogs, that everyone had a stuffed Christmas stocking. She also took great pride in a well hid Easter basket.

Deb was very close to her immediate family and immensely valued going back home to Mandan to spend time with them.

She was very active, both physically as well as giving back to others. She became an instructor for the Silver Sneakers program in 2008 and taught for 14 years including modified yoga and Tai Chi classes. There are multiple news stories and countless personal stories of how thankful students were to Deb for enhancing their quality of life through these classes.

Deb crossed off a couple major bucket list trips to the Holy Land in September 2019 and to Alaska in celebration of 50 years of marriage in May 2023. This was on top of the many years Deb enjoyed camping out at Devils Lake. She was always especially excited when family members would join in the fun.
She loved her long walks, enjoyed reading and was an excellent seamstress and quilter.

Deb is survived by her husband Bob Kuntz, Fargo ND, children: Craig (Stephanie) Kuntz, Bismarck ND, Curtis (Alissa) Kuntz, West Fargo ND, and Keith Kuntz, Fargo ND; grandchildren: Evan (Shannon) Kuntz, West Fargo ND, and Kaden Kuntz, Bismarck ND; great-grandchildren: Grayson and Charli Kuntz, West Fargo ND; brothers: Ron (Bonnie) Frohlich, Rick (Pat) Frohlich, Mandan ND, Randy (Geri) Frohlich, Mandan ND, and Lee (Arlene) Frohlich, Mandan ND; sister Kathy (Duane) Bates, Bourbonnais IL; aunts: Bernadine Prouty, Bismarck ND, Bernadette Miller, Bismarck ND, Judy Miller, Mandan ND.

Memories Timeline

Guestbook

  1. Our hearts and prayers are with you all. We spent a lot of time with the Frohlich family growing up. Many special memories. Take care and God bless.

  2. My deepest sympathy to the family. Debbie was one of the best neighbors I have known. Kind and caring always.
I know she is missed by all who knew and loved her.

    Sheila Strelau

  3. My sympathies to Bob and family. I will always remember Deb as an eternally youthful and cheerful soul. Will never forget her twinkling eyes and laugh. It was always a joy to visit with her on the rare occasions we saw each other, it was as if we had just seen each other instead of years between visits. She was an inspiration to me. Rest in peace. She is loved.

  4. Memories of many summer days and bonfires!! Love all the good times- fishing stories, family fun visits!! Miss you all!! Love and hugs!!! Dry Lake Campground neighbors!!!!

  5. So sorry Bob and family for your loss. She definitely will be missed.
    Marc and Mitzi Fillner

  6. I worked with Deb at Sammons Financial Group. She always had a smile on her face and was so kind. I was very sad to hear of her passing. Prayers to her family during this difficult time.

  7. The reality of my dear niece’s death is still surreal. Her will to live was SO strong. Her faith just kept her going.. Bob and family, I am so sorry for the loss of this beautiful person. She touched many lives. I cherish the time I had to say our good by’s. There is a special place in my heart for our flower girl at our wedding in 1958. Aunt Bernie
