Denise Dorval passed away on December 15, 2022 in her home with loved ones near.

Denise Dorval was born on July 6, 1959 to Harvey and Gertrude Balliet in Fargo, ND

Denise was an incredible cook, often working as a kitchen manager throughout the years. Most recently, she cooked at Ricks Bar and The Sons of Norway in Fargo. Denise was also a part of the Women’s Auxiliary for the Amvets Post 7. Denise was most happy when she was spending time with family and friends. She was a huge animal lover.

In August 2021, Denise found out she had lung cancer. Throughout the last year and a half, Denise fought with every inch she had to fight with. In November, the decision was made to stop all treatments. In her final days left on earth, she was placed on Hospice of the Red River Valley and was cared for by family until her last eternal breath.

Denise was survived by her son, Jesse (Tricia) Dorval; grandson, Bradyn Dorval; two sisters, Janice Smith, Fargo, ND, Shirley Miller Mesa, AZ; nephews, Junior Smith, Michael Smith, Jason Miller all from Fargo, ND, Justin Miller, Fountain Hills, AZ; niece, Debby DuBord, Fargo, ND; and many other family and friends.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Harvey and Gertrude Balliet; infant brother; two brothers in law, Jim Smith and Tom Miller; and her beloved dogs, Max and Zach.

    Denise, I say enjoyed marching with you in all those parades and our last chat at the Bowler.

  2. We are very sorry to hear of your loss. We will always remember what a great neighbor you were in the early 80’s on West Lynmar in north Fargo. You were a member of our 1983 spring mixed doubles bowling league team at the Northport Red River Lanes when we won the league championship that year! We missed you after moving away from Fargo in 1984. Rest in Peace, Denise.

  3. Man we had good times back in the 80’s. So many BBQ’s at the park. Even tho we lost touch for awhile , it was so nice to see you from time to time. You are now free of pain.
