I will miss you Gopal kaka.
I cannot forget the smiling face of Gopal kaka! When we were kids, he use to always come with sweets in his pocket! He was always immaculately dressed and his shoes were always well polished!! He use to teach us how shoes were polished!
In his younger days,as narrated by Sohan chacha, he was very popular with the kids at Bhaluhipur,Arrah.(ancestral place).
My memory of him is of Patna days and he use to come home on every festival/ occasion.
MAY HIS SOUL REST IN PEACE!!
Delhi DelhiIt was one those cold September evenings of 1993. I had just joined ND
SU as a freshman into the college of engineering and had decided to take walk down the sidewalk from Churchill Hall past the Presidents House. When I ran into a person with a pleasant appearance and a smile on his face. He was well bundled up in warm clothes and introduced himself and asked me if I was also from India. I told him yes, and we ended up walking the length of the sidewalk. I really enjoyed walking with this gentleman as he spoke only good kind warm words. He was filled with word for the wise and gave me and eye opener for dealing with college life in US.
As the conversation neared the end, this nice gentleman gave me a Butterscotch candy and asked me to meet him from time to time in the different Indian or Asian Students get togethers. During this time I hadn’t met Ragini, but when I was once relating this person to her, she said, you must have met my father, we had a good laugh about the butterscotch candy. But, I still remember his advise and his candy.
Rest In Peace Sir.

Patna BiharA Life
Full of Life
I observed
When I was introduced to him
In his early 60s.
He was living
His Retired Life.
Still A Life
Full Of Life.
He lived a Disciplined Life
Like
Early to Rise
And Early to Bed.
He never missed
A single Day
To write his Daily Diary
In which he never lied.
He taught me ABC
And took regular tests
He punched previous pages
And told me to write
on A Fresh Page
Which taught me
A Lifetime Lesson
To keep away from Cheating and Forgery.
He lived all alone
In his Big House.
Still he had a life
Full of Life.
His house used to be the most
Entertaining Place for me.
Even more entertaining
Than a park, or a cinema hall or a big Restaurant.
He talked to me
All of my interests
He served me
All of my interests.
He had such vibrations
That could make anyone
From A small kid like me
To an old man older than him
Full of Life.
Because
He lived a Life
Full of Life.
He carried
The Colourful Poppins
The Fashionable Dresses
The Positive Attitude
The varieties of Candies
The Colourful Memories
The Kind words
Who else other than him can be?
He was
A life
Full of Life.
He was none
But my “Dearest Nana ji”
Who left us for his heavenly abode.
He lived his 90 years
But lived till the last day.
He left us teaching me and many
To live a life
Full of life.
– Dedicated to You Nana Ji,
