Diane Jo Halvorson was called home March 15, 2016 after her battle with cancer. She was amongst family and the nurses in the Palliative Care Unit. Diane Jo Halvorson Eklund came into this world June 21, 1962 in Ada, MN, daughter of Alvina Helen Hager and Jarold Dean Eklund.  Diane was a free spirit with a happy go lucky attitude towards life.  Diane grew up in Ada, MN and Minneapolis, MN before the family returned back to the area.  Diane attended school in Fargo and Glyndon where she made lots of friends and met her husband Dennis Halverson.  Dennis and Diane were married August 30, 1980.  After the birth of their first son Jr. in 1979.  Dennis had joined the military which called for him to move to North Carolina.  Their second son Brad was born in 1983 in Fayetteville, NC.  Dennis and Diane returned to MN where they welcomed their third son Andy in 1986 and made their home in the Felton area. Diane enjoyed life.  She loved the summertime and the sunshine.  Her smile was infectious and she always made sure everyone was happy.  She also loved dreamcatchers and will always be remembered for her love of music.  Diane was a hard working woman and a mother before anything.  She worked at the Felton Café when the boys were young, Phoenix International for almost 10 years and Molly Maids in Fargo for about 8 years.  Recently she worked at the Felton Bar along with starting her own cleaning company.  Diane had four beautiful grandkids, who she adored and loved spending time with playing.  Diane will be remembered by many for her unique laugh and loud whistle.  She was a kid at heart. Diane is survived by her mother, Alvina Hager, Moorhead, MN; sons, Jeremy (Stefany) Fargo, ND; Brad, Felton, MN; Andy (Gina) Moorhead, MN and her four grandkids, Haydyn, Alexis, Jacob and Owyn; brothers, Dean Eklund, Fargo, ND; David Eklund, Moorhead, MN; Dwight Eklund, Hawley, MN; sisters, Debra (Larry) Hust, Big Piney, WY; and Darla (Kelly) Ringstad, Colorado Springs, CO; uncles and aunt; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her late step father, John Hager; sister-in-law, Faye Halvorson; Niko and her grandparents. 6. I do not personally know Diane harvorson but I would like to share some words of condolences to her family. While reading I noticed how big of a family she had and how pure of a life she lived. It is very sad to see someone with so much spirit past away leaving behind a feeling of emptiness in those who loved her. However, you are not alone, in the bible there is a beautiful invitation in Psalms 55:22 “Throw your burden on Jehovah,And he will sustain you. Never will he allow the righteous one to fall” God will not let you crumble in this time of need. I encourage you to pray to God, seeking help from him. I hope the love of the family as well as those who surround you will help comfort you though the pain an event like this brings along. I will include you in my prayers.

  7. I was sad to hear of Diane passing away. She was a great gal and we had great times in our teen years. My deepest sympathy to her family.

  10. I am so sorry for loss. I know you guys are going through hell right now. I just loved your mom she’s A strong woman and didn’t put up with any bull. Every time she came to the bar or I would run into her somewhere she always had a big smile on her face no matter what even if she had stress going on . I told her one day what a great job she did raising you boys. It takes a lot of work to raise 3 boys and keep it under control and to teach you to have manners and respect for people and to be kind to everyone. Not an easy t

hing to do . Diane was such a wonderful person she will missed by everyone that knew her. I wish you guys didn’t have to go through this pain. It hurts so much to have a huge loss of a parent. I’ll see you guys later and take care ok
