Diane Lee

Diane Lee, age 87, went to her heavenly home while peacefully asleep on Wednesday, December 10, 2025 at PioneerCare Center in Fergus Falls, MN.

Diane Nadine Lee was born April 22, 1938 in Wahpeton, ND to Veryl and Marie (Meslow) Childs. She was raised on a family farm seven miles west of Walcott, ND where she rode horseback to a rural elementary school in Viking Township. She graduated from Oak Grove High School of Fargo in the spring of 1957. She later attended Augsburg College in Minneapolis, MN and received her Elementary Teaching Certificate from Concordia College in Moorhead, MN.

Diane was united in marriage on December 20, 1958, to the love of her life, Rodell Lee, upon his return from the Army. Diane taught Elementary school in Leonard, ND during their first year of marriage. The newlyweds settled on their farmstead near Kindred, ND where they were blessed by the births of three boys, Randy, Daniel and Troy.

Diane was a devoted farm wife, mother, grandmother (better known as “Nami”), and great-grandma, and an active member of Kindred Lutheran Church and later of Gol Lutheran Church. She loved babies, horses, pigs, music (singing solos at church events), dancing, playing cards, reading, cooking, attending athletic events, and any gathering involving her family. Diane and Rodell spent many years enjoying time at their lake cabins, trips to Las Vegas, motorcycle rides, and visits with their kids and grandkids. They always had a family dog who was more ‘human’ than dog, and who also enjoyed Nami’s love and cooking skills!

Diane will be forever loved and deeply missed by her three children: Randy (Karen) Lee of Circle Pines, MN, Dan (Ruth) Lee of Alexandria, MN, and Troy (Sondra) Lee of Fergus Falls, MN; six grandchildren: Jennifer (Erik) Hundevad, David Lee, Dustin Lee, Anna Lee, Jacob Lee and Jordan Lee; and three great-grandchildren: Charlotte Lee, Emma Hundevad and Zoe Hundevad. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Bonnie Snortum, and nieces Sonja (Andrew) Dominguez and Ann (Kai) Hansen. Preceding Diane in death are her parents, Veryl and Marie, her husband, Rodell, and her brother-in-law, John Snortum.

A celebration of life for Diane will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, January 15, 2026, at Kindred Lutheran Church in Kindred, ND, with visitation one hour prior to the service. Lunch will be served in the church fellowship area following the celebration of life. Burial will be at the Perhus Cemetery near Kindred. Services will be livestreamed on the funeral home website at www.boulgerfuneralhome.com.
