Donald Bruce Petersen of Fargo, ND passed away peacefully on Saturday, May 16, 2026, at Meadows Nursing Home, under the care of hospice and his loving family.

Don was born July 26, 1963, in Grand Forks, ND, to Maxwell and Geraldine Petersen. He grew up in Buxton, ND, graduating from Central Valley High School in 1983.

Don worked various labor jobs, and his priorities were his family and friends. Don loved going to football and basketball games, as well as Fargo RedHawks baseball games with family and friends.

Don was preceded in death by his parents.

He is survived by his brothers Mark Petersen, Barry (Sheila) Petersen, and twin brother Dean (Melissa) Petersen.

Don’s family is holding a Celebration of Life at 1:00 p.m. Monday, June 15, 2026, at The Meadows nursing home (1315 University Dr S, Fargo, ND).

  3. I knew Don growing up – he was a really great kid. My Dad was his pastor in Buxton. May God bless him, and his brothers and all of his extended family. Losing someone you care about is so hard.
