Donald "Donny" Welch, 62, Glyndon passed away Sunday, February 6 at Sanford Health, Fargo.
Donny was born to Donald and Lillian (Meier) Welch in Moorhead, MN on May 31, 1948. Donny attended school in Moorhead, graduating from Moorhead High School. After graduation, Donny served in Vietnam. After his honorable discharge, Donny moved back to Moorhead where he worked as a cook before partnering in the Double D Restaurant. After the Double D Restaurant closed its doors he worked at Truckers Inn.
Donny married JoAnn Hirchert on March 1, 1974, at St. Elizabeth Catholic Church, Dilworth. To this union, three children were born, Lisa, Tricia and Ryan.
Donny enjoyed hunting, fishing and spending time with his children and grandchildren. He also enjoyed spending time up North with his brother and friends.
Donny is survived by his wife of 36 years JoAnn, children; Lisa (Kyle) Renner, Dilworth MN, Tricia (David) Eilertson, Dilworth MN, and Ryan (Molly) Welch, Pelican Rapids MN, grandchildren; Ethan, Macy, Hayden, Gracelyn, Nicholas, Ellie, Alexis, Jack, Matthew, brother, Dale (Cindi) Welch, Carlton MN, and sister, Judy, Fargo ND.
Donny was preceded in death by his parents, brother, Gary, and grandson, Nash.
