Donald W. Gullickson, 86, Fargo, died Saturday, July 14, 2007 in Elim Rehab and Care Center, Fargo surrounded by his loving family. Donald W. Gullickson was born May 30, 1921 in Strathcona, MN. He grew up in Saint Hilaire, MN, Thief River Falls, and Red Lake Falls. He graduated from Red Lake Falls High School in 1939. He served during World War II from 1942-1946 with the Army, predominantly in the South Pacific and Hawaii. Donald and Lois A. Hunt were married August 21, 1948 in First Presbyterian Church of Red Lake Falls, MN. They lived in Red Lake Falls until January 1960 when they moved to Alexandria, MN where he worked for Alexandria Motors. In 1964 they moved to Moorhead, MN where he worked as a service director for Kiefer Chevrolet, Offut Chevrolet, Jay Davis Chevrolet and Gateway Chevrolet. Don was honored to be presented ?Only of the Best Club? in Chevrolet District. After retirement in 1987, he continued working as a consultant for General Motors dealerships in Cokato, MN Park Rapids, MN, Langdon, ND, Wahpeton, ND, Fertile, MN and Finley, ND, until illness in March 2006. He entered Elim on June 1, 2006. In his early days he was an avid baseball pitcher. Some of his hobbies included fishing, hunting, camping, and reading. Both Don and Lois enjoyed fishing, especially on South Twin Lake and Lake of the Woods. He enjoyed spending time with his beautiful wife and family. The couple spent several winters in New Braunfels, TX. He is survived by his wife, Lois; a son, Craig (Kathy), Fargo, ND; a daughter, Cyd (Rick) Tietz, Pelican Rapids, MN. He is also survived by 5 grandchildren who loved him: Mary Gullickson, Lee Gullickson, Michel Tietz, Luke Gullickson, and James Plummer. He was preceded in death by his parents, Clara (Soderholm) and Ludwig Gullickson, a daughter, Gail Gullickson, infant twin sisters, and his sister, Dallys (Tootie) Lagerquist. Memorials preferred to Elim Rehab and Care Center, Hospice of the Red River Valley, or First Congregational Church. The funeral will be Wednesday at 11:00 a.m. at First Congregational Church, Fargo.
