Donald Boeder, 93, Fargo, ND, passed away on August 5, 2023 in his home under the care of hospice.

Donald Wayne Boeder was born on November 20, 1929 to Walter and Amanda Boeder in Enderlin, ND. During his childhood, Don’s family lived briefly in Bellingham, WA, before coming back to North Dakota and living on farms in Page, Barlow, and Hope. Don graduated from Hope High School in 1947 and began farming. Don was united in marriage to Wilma Elston on June 29, 1950. The couple made their home on the farm in Hope in the fall of 1951. Together they were blessed with three children: Barbara, Richard, and Colby.

Don was a member at Redeemer Lutheran Church in Hope, ND and served on the Church Board. He was very active in the community; serving on the Hope Fire District Board, the Elevator Board and the Golf Board when those three organizations were getting started. He also served as a Steele County Committeeman and on the Hugo Township Board and was a member of the Valley City Eagles. Wilma and Don spent many winters in Arizona and moved to Fargo in 2011.

Don is survived by his children: Barbara (Clint) Lonbaken, Richard (Linda) Boeder and Colby Boeder; grandchildren Alex and Nick Thompson, Christina (Tony) Burggraff, Melissa (Matt) Schmidt, Amanda (Broc) Giffey, Laura (Dan) Shields; 9 great-grandchildren, and his brother, Maynard.

He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Wilma, parents, brother Bob Boeder, and sister Doris Norman.

Memorials are preferred to New Life Center and Dakota Boys and Girls Ranch.
