Donna Kenitzer

Donna S. (Letteer) Kenitzer Donna, 78, formerly of Moorhead, Minnesota died on April 21st 2009 at home in Sierra Vista, AZ from respiratory failure and COPD. Her son, John and her caretaker, Diana were by her side. Donna?s son Jim and his wife Donna helped with her care in the final days of her life along with her son John. Donna was born on September 30, 1930 in Wahpeton, ND to Stanley and Hazel (Letteer) Evanson. Donna grew up and attended school in Wahpeton. ND. On November 13, 1947, she married Lorn ?Ken? Kenitzer, in Kearney, NE. During the time Lorn was in the Air Force, they lived in various parts of the US, Japan and Okinawa. Donna was very dedicated to her role as a military wife: she served and volunteered endless hours as the President of several NCO Wives Clubs, Gray Lady?s at the base hospitals, President of the Chapel Women?s group, and various other organizations. She worked as an Avon Lady for several years and worked in the credit department at Montgomery Ward. Once Lorn retired in 1966, they moved to Richland, WA and she worked for JC Penny?s. In 1987 they moved back to Fargo, North Dakota. She worked for Catherine?s Gifts, Pred?s Coats, and Coast to Coast. In 1994, they bought a home in Moorhead and lived there until Lorn died in 2000. Donna was active in the American Legion Auxiliary, DAV Auxiliary, American Vets Auxiliary, and member of the Women of the Moose. She also was a volunteer at the VA Hospital in Fargo, ND. She is survived by her children: Frank, Fargo, ND, John , Sierra Vista, AZ, Cindy (Jim) Raynor, Vancouver, WA , Jim (Donna) Kenitzer, Sierra Vista, AZ,; 6 grandchildren: Nathan Adams (Kasi), Vancouver, WA, Kristin Roy (Mark), Port Orchard, WA, Steven Kenitzer, Fargo, ND, Angela DeLeon, Apache Junction, AZ, April Cox, Mesa, AZ, and Cody Raynor, Vancouver, WA.; 6 great grandchildren: sister-in-law Mary Evanson of Fargo, ND and several nieces, and nephews. She was preceded in death by her husband; Lorn, one daughter: Patricia; one brother: Duane ?Doc? Evanson. Donna was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, aunt, and friend to all those who knew her. The Funeral will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Thursday, April 30, 2009 at Holy Spirit Catholic Church, Fargo, ND. Visitation will be on Wednesday, April 29, 2009 from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. with a Prayer Service at 7:00 p.m at Boulger Funeral Home. Burial will be at Holy Cross Cemetery North, Fargo, ND.
