Donna Schwinden

donna schwinden
Donna Ellen (Wallum) Schwinden, of 52 16 ? Avenue North, Fargo, died Sunday, March 21, 2004, in Bethany Homes, Fargo. Born on November 12, 1926, Donna was the youngest daughter of Kathryn (Collins) and Manly Wallum. Donna graduated from Fargo Central in 1944. While working as a clerk at Kresge?s, Donna met her future husband, Bud (Albert) Schwinden, who was also employed by Kresge?s. While working there, Donna would slip Bud ?free? handfuls of popcorn. A loving courtship ensued. Bud and Donna were married at St. Mary?s Cathedral on May 31, 1948. Together Donna and Bud raised three children, five gold retrievers, one shitusa, two rabbits, two ducks, and two parakeets. Growing up in the Schwinden?s household was never boring. Donna enjoyed shopping, oil painting, and writing poetry and short stories for children. However, Donna?s greatest joy was spending time with Bud and her children. We will miss your unconditional support, humor, and unselfish ways. We could always count on you. May God?s angels tenderly carry you home. You are and will always be in our hearts until the twelveth of never. Donna is survived by Bud, Fargo; and their three children and spouses, Mary Kay Schwinden-Schmidt and Ed Schmidt, Fergus Falls, MN, Cindy Schwinden and Mike Weiss, Moscow, ID, and John and Kim Schwinden and their three daughters, Brianna, Katie, and Abby, Lakeville, MN; and one sister, Colleen Hare, Fargo. In lieu of flowers, memorials are preferred to F-M Hospice, F-M Humane Society, or the Fargo Children?s Library. A funeral mass will be held Tuesday at 2 p.m. in Holy Spirit Church, Fargo. Visitation will be held Tuesday from 1-2 p.m. in the church. Burial will be in Holy Cross Cemetery, Fargo. Arrangements by Boulger Funeral Home, Fargo. Online guestbook at www.boulgerfuneralhome.com
