Doreen Harlow Kukuk, 61, of Cando, ND and Perham MN, passed away on September 6th, 2023 after a brief illness with kidney failure.
Doreen was born on December 2nd, 1961 to Walter Nelson Harlow and Betty Louise Solhjem in Fargo ND. After Doreen graduated from Moorhead Senior High School in 1980, she went on to serve others as waitress, bartender and horse trainer. She loved helping others and cherished working with and helping animals as well as people. Doreen was more concerned with helping others than her own well-being. She desired to serve others and make their lives easier, displaying a true servant attitude.
Soon after high school, Doreen gave birth to her first son Ryan Stepan. She loved him so much that she wanted to ensure he had a great life that she was unable to provide at the time. She later met her husband, Ted Kukuk and went on to have her daughter Tiffany and son Kenny. Doreen was proud of her three children and always smiled with joy when she bragged about their accomplishments.
Doreen was predeceased by her father Walter Nelson Harlow. She is survived by her mother Betty Louise Harlow (Perham, MN). Daughter Tiffany (Derrick) Kukuk (Lake Park, MN), two sons Ryan (Bridget) Stepan (Ray, ND) and Kenny Kukuk (Williston, ND), Three sisters; Diane Tyge (Perham, MN), Darleen (Johnnie) Griffin (San Diego, CA) and Denise (Mark) Christinson (Cavalier, ND). Beloved Grandchildren; Harkin, Mara and Hensley. Cherished nephews & nieces; Adam, Luke, Jacob, Tia, Laura & Lacey. A host of cousins (Harlow & Solhjem families), friends and co-workers who love and will miss her.
Services will be held at Cando Lutheran Church at 304 5th Avenue, Cando, ND 58324 on September 16th at 11:00 AM. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Cando Volunteer Fire Department, K9s for Warriors, or an Animal Rescue organization of your choice, organizations Doreen felt strongly about.
