Dorothy C. Duval, 77, Fargo, passed away on Saturday, December 22, 2007 at Meritcare Palliative Care, Fargo surrounded by her loving family.
Dorothy Colette Symanietz was born February 3, 1930 at Little Falls, MN, the daughter of Albert and Anna (Manka) Symanietz. She grew up on the family farm near Randall, MN. Her first years of school where at the Darling Township School. While attending high school Dorothy worked at the hospital in Little Falls as a nurses? aid. She lived on site with the other nurses aids and the nuns. She graduated from Little Falls High School.
Roger and Dorothy C. Symanietz were married July 7, 1948 in St. James Catholic Church, Randall, MN. They made their home in Fargo
Dorothy worked as a pharmacy tech at the Fargo Clinic Pharmacy from 1966 until 1991 when she retired.
Dorothy spent her ? retirement? volunteering with many organizations in particular St. Mary?s Cathedral where she was a member for 59 years. She also worked as the funeral lunch coordinator at the church for many years. She was also a member of the Catholic Daughters and Small Faith Group. Dorothy enjoyed sewing, crocheting, crafts, gardening, and was known for her great pickles, jams and tomato juice. She spent many summers with her family at their lake cabin on Upper Cormorant Lake.
Dorothy is survived by her children: David (Sally), West Fargo, ND, Janice (Larry) Olson, Thief River Falls, MN, Kerry (Alison), Moorhead, MN, Kelly (Deb), New Auburn, WI, Dale, Fargo, ND; 7 grandchildren, Bree, Corey, Kyle, Zachery, Stephanie, Christine and Julie; 2 great grandchildren, Greta and Tristan; sister Angie Rheault of Fargo, ND.
She is preceded in death by her husband Roger who died in June 25, 2007, her parents and siblings, Raymond, Josephine, Simon, Robert, Evelyn and Donald.
Visitation: Wednesday, Dec. 26, from 5:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. with a Rosary recited by the Catholic Daughters at 6:30 p.m. followed by a Prayer Service at 7:00 p.m. in the Boulger Funeral Home
Funeral Mass: Thursday, Dec. 27, 10:00 a.m. St. Mary?s Cathedral, Fargo, ND
Burial: Holy Cross Cemetery North, Fargo, ND
