Dorothy Lane Jonson, 95, Fargo, ND, died Sunday, February 11, 2007 in Rosewood on Broadway, Fargo. Dorothy Lane Jonson was born July 24, 1911, the daughter of William. J. and Elizabeth Lane. She attended Fargo schools, graduating from Fargo Central High School in 1929. She graduated from NDSU in June of 1933. Following graduation she taught in the government nursery school. She taught Home Economics and English at Paynesville, MN and Home Economics and Music in Iowa. She completed a practical nursing course from Chicago School of Nursing. In 1941 she became an Avon representative. From 1943-1944 she was the office nurse for Dr. Tryne Oftedahl. In December 1949 she married Reuben Jonson of Hope, ND. They farmed during the spring and summer and lived in Fargo during the winter months. Reuben died in April 1973. She went back into the nursing field in 1979, taking care of elderly ladies in their homes. She worked for Bethany Nursing Home for 13 years. She retired in 1975. She is a 75 year member of Mecca Chapter of Eastern Star and also a Past Worthy Matron and Grand Representative to Manitoba from North Dakota. She was an 88 year member of First Presbyterian Church. Dorothy is survived by two nieces, Elizabeth (Duane) Lemm, Hillsboro, ND and Letitia Lane, Greensboro North Carolina; one nephew, Wyn Taryn and numerous great nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; two sisters; one brother; and a nephew. Visitation: 5-7 p.m. - Thursday, February 15, 2007 ?
