Dorothy Ann Lindemann, 82, Fargo, ND passed away peacefully on September 10, 2019 in her home surrounded by her family. Dorothy was born on October 28, 1936 in Fargo, ND to Adam ‘Roy’ and Loretta Gibson. She graduated from Sheldon High School in 1955. She married Conrad Herbert Lindemann June 9, 1962 at St. Mary’s Catholic Church in Sheldon, ND. Dorothy and Conrad lived in Enderlin, ND, Chaffee, ND and moved to Fargo ND in 1971 where she resided until her death. Dorothy graduated from North Dakota Agriculture College (NDSU) in 1959 with a B.S. in Home Economics. She became a teacher and taught in Mott, Sheldon and Chaffee ND until 1971. She started at Embers Restaurant when it opened in 1972 and worked there for the next 30 years until it closed. She then worked as a Greeter at Meritcare/Sanford from 2004 until she retired in 2009. Dorothy was a member of Holy Cross Catholic Church in West Fargo. She was a liturgical minister for the church and enjoyed every opportunity to do the readings for Mass. She regularly attended bible studies and enjoyed making new friends through this group. She was actively involved in her children’s lives and led their Blue Bird, Camp Fire, and Religious Education groups. Dorothy loved scrapbooking; she has numerous albums that date back to her wedding. She loved her scrapbooking weekends with friends and enjoyed cross stitching. One of her favorite things to do was attending her grandchildren’s activities. This included soccer, baseball, hockey, swimming events, theatre/plays/musicals, dance recitals, orchestra and choir concerts. Dorothy also enjoyed going to her extended family’s sporting events. Dorothy was a huge Bison fan! She faithfully attended every home football game for the last ten years. Earlier in life, Dorothy enjoyed riding in the semi with Conrad and in later years, she enjoyed a couple of family trips to Florida and Mexico. Dorothy is survived by her 5 children; Monica (John) Wilson, Fargo ND, Sherie (Dean) Linstad, Fargo, ND, Stephan (Bethany) Lindemann, Fargo ND, Kathy Lindemann (John Freetly), Billings, MT, Renèe (Troy) Olson, Fargo ND, 10 grandchildren (Katie, Sarah, Alex, Jackie, Trè, Brennan, Julia, Oscar, Conrad and Leroy), 6 great-grandchildren, brother Thomas Gibson, sisters-in-law Carol Lindemann, Barb Lindemann, Bev Schmit and many nieces and nephews. Dorothy is preceded in death by her husband Conrad, parents Roy and Loretta Gibson, Conrad’s parents Herbert Lindemann, Eva and Frank Schmidt, sisters-in-law Bev Gibson and Joyce Lindemann, brothers-in-law Doug Lindemann, Stan Lindemann, Marv Schmit and nephew John Gibson. Visitation will take place from 4:00-6:00 PM with a prayer service at 6:00 PM Sunday, September 15, 2019 at Boulger Funeral Home and Celebration of Life Center, Fargo. Visitation will continue from 9:00-10:00 AM with a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM Monday, September 16, 2019 at Holy Cross Catholic Church. Burial will take place at Enderlin City Cemetery, Enderlin, ND. The family of Dorothy Lindemann would like to thank Hospice of the Red River Valley and Comfort Keepers staff for their wonderful care of our mother.
