Doug was born in Ontario, OR on July 22, 1958, to Marlene and Eugene DeMinck. He was raised in Nyssa, OR with his 3 brothers and 3 sisters. In 1968 his family moved to Ogden, UT where he fondly remembered camping in the mountains and being 7th grade class president. He moved to Fargo in 1973 and went to Fargo North High School. He began his career as a purchasing agent at the Holiday Inn. He went on to become a salesperson for Barrel O’Fun and D-S Beverages before purchasing the Nestor Tavern in 2005. He operated the Nestor Tavern until November 2017 and in 2018 became part owner/operator of Tailgater’s Sports Cafe. He was an avid golfer and enjoyed weekly outings with friends in the summertime. He appreciated all types of sports and played basketball, softball, billiards and was in a bowling league at Red River Lanes for many years. He passed his love for sports onto his sons and enjoyed many years watching them participate in baseball, basketball, and football. He was always good with people and enjoyed socializing with patrons, friends, and family. He was incredibly proud of his children and grandchildren, who have been a source of much joy.

  11. Many prayers for the DeMinck family. Doug had a contagious laugh. He was a people person and was always concerned about his patrons. Doug will be greatly missed by many. RIP Doug.

  12. Our hearts will be healing for a long while, and Doug will be severely missed. Doug was a constant joy every time we got together for family reunions, as well as a comfort. We are deeply saddened of the time that has flown by, and the chances that were swept away to be closer with Doug. The Utah family and the Montana family are here, and will always be supports for the North Dakota DeMincks. We love you, all.

    Sincerely,
