Duane Knopp
October 19, 1953 ~ June 27, 2023
Duane Francis Knopp, 69 passed away at Sanford Hospital, Fargo, ND, on June 27, 2023, surrounded by his family, after a prolonged illness.
He was born October 19, 1953, in Moorhead, MN, the son of Jacob Leroy and Mae Evelyn (Ledeman) Knopp. Duane attended Fargo South High School where he participated in and enjoyed wrestling. In his early adult years, Duane worked as a custodian for Fargo Public Schools and was a driver for Dakota Paper. He then worked several years for Food Service of America from which he retired. Duane enjoyed camping, fishing and had a passion for motorcycles and old cars. He loved cowboy movies and old- time country music. As a family, they took several trips driving around the Minnesota lakes area. Duane’s first plane ride was at the age of 50, when he visited family in California. He married Deborah Kjaer in 1975 and they had one daughter, Chandra, whom he adored.
Duane is survived by his daughter Chandra Lendobeja, three grandchildren, Hailey, Cole and Emma, his friend Lynae Wagner, brothers Bruce (Marlene), Roger, Jeffers (Marcy), and Russell, sisters Peggy (Greg) Boore, and Netty (Brad) Berger as well as many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and sister, Linda.
A Celebration of Life will be held from 5-7 pm on Monday, July 17th at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, Fargo.

I worked with Duane for several years at FSA. He was a hard worker and quite the joker to us all.
