DuWayne L. Johnson, 76, 510 4th Avenue North, Fargo, died Sunday, May 4, 2003, in the Veteran Affairs Medical Center, Fargo. DuWayne Johnson was born May 2, 1927, in Fargo, ND, the son of Betty Byrd and Vernon Johnson. He grew up and attended school in Fargo. He served in the U.S. Navy during World War II. He then returned to Fargo, and has lived here since. He worked at Meinecke-Johnson in building trades until retiring in 1962. He was a member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars, American Legion, and the Moose Lodge. He is survived by his mother, Betty Byrd, West Fargo; one brother, Jim Johnson, West Fargo; and one sister, Lorraine (Edmund) Jensen, Moorhead, MN. No funeral services will be held. Inurnment will be in Fort Snelling National Cemetery, Minneapolis, MN. Arrangements by Boulger Funeral Home, Fargo.
