Edith A. Cossette, 86 of West Fargo, died Friday, May 7, 2010 at MeritCare Palliative Care under the care of Hospice of the Red River Valley.

Edith was born on January 28, 1924 in Wild Rice, ND to Edward and Elmire (Richard) Sauvageau.  She married Laurence Cossette on November 22, 1943 and they made their home in Fargo.  Edith worked as a cook at St. Anthony's School for many years.

She enjoyed spending time with family and friends, quilting, reading, gardening and time at their lake home.

Edith is survived by her children, Helen (David) Bye of Fargo, Gerald (Sue) Cossette of St. Michael, MN, Betty (Ken) Swanson of West Fargo;  grandchildren, Michelle (Kary) Voegele, Mark (Sarah) Bye, Ryan (Kelli) Cossette, Brandon (Amy) Cossette, Sarah Cossette, Kari (Tony) Clark, Darren Cossette, Jana (Carl) Pecinovsky; 12 great-grandchildren; siblings, Della Bassett of Fargo, Denise (Clifford) Cossette of Fargo, Leonie (Raymond) Rheault of Horace, ND, Marie (Warren) Brendemuhl of Moorhead, MN, Elaine (Lloyd) Staska of West Fargo, Pam Ulness of Moorhead, Leo (Diana) Sauvageau of Ottawa, IL, Clifford Sauvageau of Fargo, Tom (Linda) Sauvageau of West Fargo, Pat (Jim) Dreitzler of Las Vegas, NV, Kathy (Ed) McDonald of West Fargo, Donna (Duane) Schechinger of Fargo and Janet (Del) Arneson of Cotton Lake, MN and many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Laurence; son, Richard and siblings, Mike Sauvageau, Guy Sauvageau, Alpha Sauvageau and Annabell Meager and by her parents.

Memorials are preferred to Hospice of the Red River Valley.
