Edith E. Ingebretson

Edith Ingebretson, 95, of Fargo, ND, passed away Tuesday, January 13, 2026, at Bethany Retirement Living, Fargo.

Edith was born on June 17, 1930, in Mayville, the daughter of Oscar and Hilda (Lanager) Gotteberg. Edith attended country school south of Mayville. On June 20, 1948, she married Ralph Ingebretson in Crookston, MN. In 1957, the couple moved to Fargo, ND and she held many careers as a waitress, telephone switch operator, Seamstress, and clerk at the Red Owl Store. Edith was a member of Bethlehem Lutheran Church, the American Legion and the Sons of Norway, all of Fargo. She started the Mayville Archery Club, enjoyed puzzles, her time at the senior center with friends and playing bingo, and dancing to polkas and waltzes. She loved her family and enjoyed the time and memories they will forever share.

Edith is survived by her two sons, Roy (Karen) Ingebretson of Fargo and Terry (Eileen) Ingebretson of West Fargo; son in law, Scott Meyer of Fargo; five grandchildren; five great-grandchildren; and four great great-grandchildren.

Edith is preceded in death by her husband, Ralph; daughter, Marie; and her siblings, John Gotteberg, Helen Sharpe, Ruth Howard, Ida Edberg, Alice Eiken, and Ray Gotteberg.
