Eileen Braaten

Eileen Lucilee Braaten, age 78, of Fargo, ND passed away on Tuesday, March 3, 2009 at MeritCare Hospital, Fargo, ND. Eileen was born on August 27, 1930 to Norman and Gustie (Oveson) Braaten in Davenport, ND where she grew up and graduated from high school. She attended Interstate Business College in Fargo, ND. On December 31, 1949 she married Donald Braaten at Trinity Lutheran Church in Moorhead, MN. They lived in Fargo for a short time and then moved to Lakota, ND. After a few years they moved to Steele, ND where Eileen worked as the Register of Deeds. When they moved to Lamoure, ND she worked for an attorney. They moved back to Fargo on May 1, 1959. Eileen especially loved her Persian cats. She won many awards and trophies at cat shows. She enjoyed golfing and spending time at their lake home on Big Detroit in the summer and their winter home in Arizona. She is survived by her husband, Don; one sister, Mae Anderson, Fargo; and many nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Lloyd.
