Eleanor Wiegand

Eleanor passed away on Tuesday, October 9, 2018 at the Sanford Hospital Palliative Care Unit in Fargo, at the age of 80.
Eleanor Ruth Wiegand was born on July 14, 1938, the daughter of Henry and Ada Wiegand, in Fargo, ND. She grew up in LaMoure, ND and moved with her family to Fargo in 1966. She later made her home in Valley City at the Open Door Center. Eleanor had most recently made her home at the Luther Memorial Home in Mayville for the past four years.
Throughout her life, Eleanor enjoyed flowers, pansies being her favorite. She loved the simple pleasures in life – her favorite thing being to visit with anyone she encountered. She was truly interested in everyone and took great pride in knowing all about her family and what was happening in their lives. She also took part in the Special Olympics from which she won awards that made her proud. Eleanor will be remembered as a very caring, loving, forgiving person – She was a very special child of God.
Eleanor is survived by her two sisters – Alice Stenhjem of Gig Harbor, WA; and Jean (Dennis) Gilbertson of Hope, ND; her niece - Calette Frisinger; and her two nephews - Scott Kilde and Brad Stenhjem. She was preceded in death by her sister, Florence Kilde Nelson.
FUNERAL SERVICE: 2 PM Monday at Boulger Funeral Home and Celebration of Life Center in Fargo
VISITATION: one hour prior to the service in the funeral home on Monday
BURIAL: a private family burial will take place at Sunset Memorial Gardens in Fargo

So very sorry for the tragic loss of your dear loved one. Life seems so unfair to lose someone so dear to you. The Bible provides true comfort for grieving family. Revelation 21:4; tells us: “And he will wipe out every tear from their eyes, and death will be no more, neither will mourning nor outcry nor pain be anymore.” May you find comfort in these words and your loving memories.

I grew up next door to Henry, Ada, and Eleanor and spent many hours with her, coloring, walking to Northport, and visiting. I have many fond memories of her kind heart and her giggles. She truly was a gem. May she rest in peace.
