Elissa May Riemer, age 34, of Fargo, ND, passed away on July 13, 2024.
Elissa was born July 28, 1989, in Fargo, ND, to Curtis and Stacey Riemer. She was baptized and confirmed at St. John Lutheran Church in Hillsboro, ND. She graduated as co-Salutatorian of her class from Hillsboro High School. She went on to attend North Dakota State University where she graduated Magna Cum Laude with a Bachelor of Science in Nursing.
She began a career in nursing at Sanford in Fargo, ND. From there her sense of adventure led her to work as a travel nurse for several years before settling in San Diego, California. She moved back to North Dakota in 2022, buying a home in north Fargo. At this time, she enrolled at NDSU to pursue a degree as a nurse practitioner.
Elissa was in her element exploring the outdoors. Hiking, camping, cycling and kayaking were all favorite activities to experience with friends and family. She had a passion for traveling, covering many states along with trips to South America, Central America, Europe and Africa. Always looking for a challenge, she had many hobbies and interests.
She loved making memories with family and friends. She was a true person of service, generous with her time, selflessly sharing her talents and gifts with others. We cherish these memories and will miss her dearly.
Elissa is survived by her parents Curtis and Stacey Riemer of Hillsboro; her grandmothers Marjorie Riemer of Hillsboro, ND; and Twilla Hilde of Borup, MN; her brothers Dale (Marie) Riemer of Hillsboro, ND and Gust Riemer of Fargo, ND; her nieces – Lola, Vivian, Freya, and Hazel; her nephew Boden; and also several aunts, uncles, cousins, dear friends, and her cat, Siam. She was preceded in death by her grandfathers – Donald Riemer and Ernest Hilde.

Saddened and heart broken to loose such a sweet and cool person like Elissa. I hope she is at peace.
Dear Reimer Family,
We are so sorry for this trial in the journey of life. Know that we care about you and are here for any support that you need.
Our love and prayers,
Howard and Colette Cotton
I can’t put in to words how very sorry I am to all who loved Elissa. The news was just devastating. Elissa and I started at Sanford’s hematology infusion center at the same time. I got to know her and she proved to be such a down to earth, sweet, calming person. She was also a great nurse and would have made an even better NP. Elissa loved her nieces and nephew and I know she loved her cat and all cats in general; as do I. I send my most sincere condolences and heartfelt prayers that you all can somehow get through these heartbreaking days. And I hope you are able to witness the signs that Elissa’s soul is always nearby.
Thoughts and prayers with the family and friends through this difficult time. She was a kind and gentle soul and will forever live in our hearts.

I have just heard of Elissa’s passing and my heart is broken for each one of her family members. I pray that our Heavenly Father will wrap His arms around each member of her family to comfort, strengthen and heal in this time of grief. It seems grief is the price we pay when those we love leave to be with Jesus.
