Ernie Adolph Mosbrucker, 86, of Fargo, North Dakota, passed away peacefully on January 12, 2025, surrounded by his loving family. Born on September 6, 1938, in Glen Ullin, North Dakota, Ernie was the son of Adolph and Rachal Mosbrucker.

Ernie grew up in the Beulah area, where he later raised his children. He earned a bachelor’s degree in education and built a career that showcased his remarkable ability to connect with people. Those connections lead him to various roles within the community like being on city council. This talent led him to various sales roles, though he often spoke most fondly of his time selling John Deere equipment.

On November 28, 1959, Ernie married Marlys, beginning a devoted partnership that spanned 65 years. A devout Catholic, Ernie found strength and community in his faith throughout his life.

Ernie loved sports and the outdoors. He enjoyed hunting and fishing, and cherished time spent on Lake Sakakawea. The times where his kids and grandkids were able to join him on the lake made him smile. He was an avid fan of the Minnesota Vikings and relished playing cards with friends and family. Some of his fondest memories included playing baseball with his father during his youth.

He is survived by his beloved wife, Marlys; their children: Jamie Mosbrucker, Dawn Marie Neugebauer, Rhonda Krohn, and Jennifer Erickson; grandchildren: Jessica Lord, Jerrica Mueller, Jerrett Mosbrucker, Cole and Chase Neugebauer, Corie Bellefeuille, Morgan Embrey, Bryce Verkuehlen, Liam and Kellen Erickson; and great-grandchildren: Evret Lord; Jaxen, Jonas, Jentry, and Jaren Mueller; DJ, Lemon, and Annalee Neugebauer; and Cal Embrey. He is also survived by his brother Keary Mosbrucker and sisters Bardella Guthrie and Vicky Sanchez. Ernie was preceded in death by his parents; grandchildren Michael and Joanne Krohn; and other cherished family members.

Ernie viewed Marlys as his angel. His polio impacted his ability to care for himself in later years in which Marlys had to care for him. Her unwavering care for Ernie’s health challenges showed her love and respect for him.

A funeral mass will be held on January 20th at 10 a.m. at St. Anne & Joachim Catholic Church in Fargo. Burial will follow in Fargo.

May Ernie’s memory bring comfort to all who knew him.
