Ernest (Ernie) Cossette was born near Hickson, ND on February 24, 1925 to Arthur and Emma (DuBord) Cossette. He grew up on the family farm and farmed with his family. Ernie attended St. Benedict School in Wild Rice. On July 18, 1944 he married Hazel (Rheault) at St. Benedict. Ernie continued farming until 1946 when he and Hazel moved to Fargo. He was employed at Nabisco for the next 15 years. Ernie then worked as a custodian until his retirement in 1990. Ernie and Hazel moved to West Fargo in 1975.

Ernie was good at wood crafting. He enjoyed fishing, hunting, and horseshoe. He loved spending time with his children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.

Ernie is survived by his wife Hazel; children, LeRoy (Lynn) Cossette, Gulf Shores, AL, Russell (Gloria) Cossette, Cormorant Lake, MN, Wayne Cossette, Detroit Lakes, MN, Karen (Michael) Hofer, Fargo, ND, Michael (Valerie) Cossette, Sabin, MN, Suzanne (Keith) Holm, Fargo, ND, Kathy Cossette, Glyndon, MN, Joleen Cossette, Fountain Hills, AZ, Faye (Mark) Carmen, Fountain Hills, AZ, Debra (Rod) Young, Horace, ND, Joe (Barb)  Cossette, Moorhead, MN; 31 Grandchildren; 46 Great-Grandchildren; and Six Great-Great-Grandchildren.

He is preceded in death by one grandson, five sisters and three brothers.

Memorials preferred to The Holy Cross Building Fund or Donors choice.

    We were saddened to hear of Ernie’s death. May God be with you in your time of loss. Hazel and Ernie were both very active at Holy Cross Church and helped in so many ways. We trust he nows dines in the Kingdom of God because of the way he lived. Eternal rest grant unto him oh Lord and let perpetual light shine upon him.

    Wayne and I are very sorry to hear of Ernest’s passing. I know he had a wonderful life, filled with an adoring and gracious family. You all are in our prayers. In lieu of flowers, we made a memorial donation to the Holly Cross Building fund as stated on the Boulger Funeral Home web site.
