Eulalie Marie Jacobs, 85, Minnetonka, MN, passed away in Moorhead, MN on Friday, December 26, 2008. Eulalie was born on December 29, 1922 in Grafton, ND to Lena and John L. Koehmstedt; raised on a farm outside Minto, ND; moved to Minto after the 8th grade; and graduated from Minto High School in 1940. She attended St. Scholastica College, Duluth, MN; joined the Army Cadet Nurse Corps in September of 1942; and graduated from Hibbing General Hospital School of Nursing in 1945. She was then assigned to Fitzsimmons General Hospital, Denver, CO for special training from August 1945 to January 1946, but the war ended before any deployment overseas. She then moved to Minneapolis, MN where she practiced nursing (surgical emphasis) at Abbot-Northwestern Hospital, and where she met her future husband, Robert C. Jacobs. They were united in marriage on August 20, 1949 in Minto, ND. While Robert was employed with Texaco, they lived in Eau Claire, WI; Minneapolis, MN; Mitchell, SD; Minot, ND; and Minnetonka, MN. In March of 2008, Eulalie and Robert moved to Eventide Nursing Home in Moorhead to spend their final years closer to family and friends. Eulalie?s gentle, but strong, caring nature and nurturing spirit served her nursing profession well?she was always thinking of and putting others ahead of herself. She had a passion for flowers and gardening, a love of color, card games, and listening to music. She is survived by her younger sister: Mary Margaret Neigum, Bismarck, ND; daughters: Barbara A. Davies, Scottsdale, AZ, Chrisse (Terry) Welle, Fargo, ND; and granddaughters: Alexandra and Courtney Welle. She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert; son: Robert Jr.;brothers: Dr. John L., Ray, and Paul Koehmstedt; and sister: Dr. Helen S. Koehmstedt. Visitation: 6:30 to 7:00 pm on Sunday, December 28, 2008 at Boulger Funeral Home, Fargo, ND with a Prayer Service at 7:00 pm. Funeral: 2:00 pm on Monday, December 29, 2008 at St. Mary?s Cathedral, Fargo, ND.
