On Thursday, January 26, 2023, Bob’s “Brown-Eyed Girl” joined her heavenly Father.

Evelyn Marie Hoffman was born on November 27, 1954, the daughter of John “Jack” and Virginia (Roberge) Hoffman in Rolla, ND. When Evelyn was two years old, the family moved to California. Evelyn attended school there through the 6th grade. That summer the family moved back to North Dakota, where they moved around for the next few years. Evelyn attended 7th grade in Minot, ND, 8th grade in Rolette, Rugby, and Bismarck. After that school year, the family moved back to Rolette where she finished her schooling, graduating from Rolette High School in 1973. She worked a couple of years before attending Practical Nursing School in Belcourt, ND. She graduated from there in 1976, and received her license, making her an LPN. She nursed in various hospitals and clinics, ending her nursing career when she lived in Minneapolis and met the love of her life, Robert J. Moore. They were married in September of 1992. Bob and Evie moved around the southern Minnesota area, and settled in Plainview, before Evie was diagnosed with frontotemporal dementia. She was in an assisted living home in Cannon Falls, MN, before moving to Eventide in Moorhead.

Evelyn is survived by her husband, Robert J. Moore; her siblings – Esther (Jim) Paul of Kindred, ND; Rebecca (Jeff) McNany of Phoenix, AZ; Peggy (Dave) Latter of Edmond, OK; Jacqueline (Guy) Hendrickson of West Fargo, ND; Johnnie (Pamela) Hoffman of Bull Shoals, AR; and Jeanette Hoffman of West Fargo. Also surviving are six nieces, one nephew, several grandnieces and grandnephews, and many cousins.

She was preceded in death by her parents, John and Virgina; and her sister, Susan Hoffman.

  1. We are thankful that we had the opportunity meet Evelyn and her husband Bob at Believer’s Fellowship Church.
What a wonderful couple and a blessing that Bob had the opportunity to “walk Evelyn home” on her way to her heavenly Father. Praying for her family, relatives and friends in this challenging time.

    Mike and Lesa Hagen

  2. May God bless you, Bob, with comfort and peace as you grieve Evie’s passing. She was an incredible woman, and incredibly blessed to have you by her side in this life. Love and prayers, Bob! And blessings to all of Evie’s family as you mourn her loss as well. Most Sincerely, Doug and Lynelle Snyder and family
