Evelyn Louise (Krisher) Richtsmeier was born May 3, 1939 to Chester Krisher and Erna (Duesing) Krisher in Medford, WI.

Evelyn had two siblings: Edward Krisher and Calvin Krisher. Evelyn grew up on a dairy farm near Medford, Wisconsin.

Evelyn married Wallace David Richtsmeier on March 17, 1958. She filled the “farmer’s wife” role very well until Wallace’s passing March 1, 1979. She reminisced about temporary hired men bunking in the house basement as she did laundry, cooked harvest meals, along with keeping up with her garden. The highlight of Wallace and Evelyn’s lives came every fall when they hosted Hunter Convention for their church. During their lives, they had four children: Mark (Donna) of Hunter, ND; Maureen Larson (Steve) of Bloomington, MN; Marilyn Curtis (Ross) of Fallbrook, CA, and Andrew (Jade) of Grand Rapids, MN.

Evelyn kept a strong trust in God all her adult life. As she faced difficult experiences, her faith helped her rise above the experience to see the grandeur picture ahead. The last few months of her life was most challenging of all. As her health failed, dementia set in and her mind wanted to keep going, but her body was too weak and frail. She simply couldn’t comprehend what was happening. We will be forever grateful for all the staff at Edgewood Assisted Living, Elim Skilled Care, and Hospice that helped her through this very challenging time. More than ever, we all realize it takes a village to get to the finish line.

Evelyn is preceded in death by her husband, Wallace Richtsmeier, her parents Chester & Erna Krisher, her brother Edward Krisher, Braham, MN, and numerous uncles, aunts, cousins, and friends.

Evelyn is survived by her aunt, Mabel Alderink, Minneapolis, MN. Mabel was more like a sister to Evelyn. Also survived by brother, Calvin {Laurie) Krisher, Scandinavea, WI; her 4 children, 13 grandchildren, Todd (Emery), Whitefish, MT; Jason (Heidi) Hunter, ND; Karma, West Fargo, ND; Matt (Meg) Larson, Duluth, MN; Mike (Kristina) Larson, Beldenville, WI; Jonathan Larson, Anoka, MN; Paul Larson, Bloomington, MN; Maurisa Larson, Anoka, MN; Ben (Katie) Curtis, Nampa, ID; Alex Curtis, Fargo, ND; Chet (Angela) Curtis, Belgrade, MT; Cassandra, San Diego, CA; Ryan (Tally), San Luis Obispo, CA and 11 great-grandchildren, Wynter & Arya Richtsmeier; Jett & Ember Richtsmeier; Finn, Lev, & Inga Larson, Grady & Rayna Larson, Nolan Curtis; Mialynn Curtis. Evelyn is also survived by numerous nephews, nieces, cousins, and friends.

  13. I have fond memories of a special lady. She is so much apart of all I remember from days at Hunter. My sincere sympathy to all of you.

  14. That was a beautiful service. Evelyn was such a good friend to my mom. She always radiated Gods spirit in kindness in word and deed to our family whenever she could. From saving my mom a bed at convention, to holding us up during my sisters and dads illness’s and deaths, you could always count on her to be standing by. She was a great lady. May God bless her memory.

  15. I have fond memories of Evelyn’s generous hospitality and kindness expressed in so many way. Having known Mark and Andrew best, I wish to extend sympathy to each of the four of Evelyn’s children. May you each have comfort and grace to face changes without your mother.

  16. (I tried to send an email to you last week, Mark and Donna, but it failed to deliver, so I’m writing here instead.) I was thinking of you all while we prepared for our own Mom’s funeral last week. We had lots of family and friend support and I know you likely did as well – it helps! 🙂 I always enjoyed Evelyn’s witty sense of humor. It makes me smile to think of memories of her in Fargo. Love, Suzanna
