Everett Christianson

The Funeral Service for Everett Christianson will be held 10:30 AM Friday, April 4, 2003, at the Highland Lutheran Church rural Cummings, North Dakota. Visitation will be on Thursday from 4:30 - 7 PM with a prayer service at 7 PM in Wildeman Funeral Home in Hillsboro. Visitation will also be one hour prior to the funeral in the church on Friday. Burial will be held in the Highland Lutheran Church Cemetery. Everett died on Sunday, March 30, 2003, at the Hillsboro Medical Center Nursing Home at the age of 82.
Everett Dean Christianson was born on November 1, 1920, near Hillsboro, North Dakota, the son of Andrew and Mabel (Bruton) Christianson. He was baptized on December 31, 1920, and confirmed on May 31, 1936, at Our Savior?s Lutheran Church in Hillsboro. He grew up near Hillsboro on the family farm, attended school in Bloomfield Township and graduated from Hillsboro High School on May 22, 1941. After high school Everett attended school in Wahpeton, North Dakota, and later worked for Northwest Airlines in Minneapolis for the Government Defense Department. Everett served his country in the United States Aircorp from December 1, 1945, until December 18, 1946. After his discharge he worked for the Veterans Administration in Fargo from 1947 until June of 1953. Everett was united in marriage to Margaret Anderson on August 27, 1948, at Highland Lutheran Church, rural Cummings. They moved to the family farm near Cummings in 1953, and retried from farming in 1985.
Everett was very active in the Farmer?s Union in Cummings, and was on the board of directors from 1970 until 1974. He served on the Ervin Township School Board for over 10 years. He was a member of Highland Lutheran Church, and was on the church council and was treasurer from 1958 until 1971.
Everett is survived by his wife, Margaret of Hillsboro; his sons, Bradley (Shelley) Christianson of Arvada , Colorado; and Dale (Rose) Christianson of rural Cummings; and 5 grandchildren, Nicole and Nathan Christianson; and Sarah, Lisa, and Eric Christianson. He is also survied by his brother, Glenn Christianson of Hillsboro; and his sister, Mavis (Richard) Baglien of Oceanside, California.
Everett was preceded in death by his parents; his brothers, Clinton and Arthur.
