Florence Johnson

Florence M. Johnson, 85, Fargo passed away Thursday, February 2, 2012, at Rosewood on Broadway, Fargo.
Florence M. Bechtold was born November 30, 1926, at St. Joseph, MN. She grew up there graduating from St. Cloud Tech High School in 1944. She received her R.N. degree from Trinity Hospital Nursing Program in 1947 at Jamestown, N.D. Florence married James A. Johnson at Waite Park, MN, on Nov. 27, 1948. She worked at Trinity Hospital, the Professional Building in Jamestown, the Central Dakota Nursing Home and at Jamestown Hospital. In 1974 they moved to Fargo, where Florence worked as a R.N. for the Fargo Nursing Home, now known as Rosewood on Broadway from 1975-1982 when she retired.
Florence was a member of St. James Basilica, Jamestown where she belonged to the Lady of Lourdes Circle for 25 years. She later became a member of St. Mary's Cathedral, Fargo.
She is survived by four daughters: Beverly Sherwood, Roseville, MN; Diane (Rodney) Albright, Billings, MT; Mary Jo (fiancé Dan) Kleinknecht, Jamestown, ND; Janet Johnson, Fargo, ND; 9 grandchildren; 9 great-grandchildren; sister, Dorothy (Art) Weiland, Fargo, ND; three brothers, Charles (Eileen) Bechtold, St. Joseph, MN; Del (Marilyn) Bechtold, Anaheim, CA; George (Danna) Bechtold, Waite Park, MN, sister-in-law, Lucy Bechtold, Waite Park, MN.
She was preceded in death by three infant sons, her parents, husband, James, and brother Louis.
In lieu of flowers, memorials preferred.
